Pros
Working from home; Communicates health care changes very well
Cons
No career growth; Sales directed organizations are great but poor support for back office teams
Advice to Senior Management
Be innovative in cultivating current employees
Pros
Great product offering with huge reach into the market
Cons
could not get staffing right and implementation is poor
Advice to Senior Management
spend the resources to train your staff and leadership and spend time with your employees understanding their struggles and work to improve your organization through details you find from your own people.
Pros
Some of the people are great to work with.. There are a lot of sharp people who know their stuff.
Cons
The Upper management seems to lack proper people management skills. So turnover is getting higher and higher. They need to fix this.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus a bit more on making your employees at all levels feel like you want them there and stop just talking about the financials.
Pros
Fast paced and challenging environment
Cons
Subpar communication
Subpar benefits
Inconsistent business strategies
Subpar career opportunities
Advice to Senior Management
Lead by example. Make your employees feel they are the company's greatest assets. Just don't say it.
Pros
There are very talented people who are devoted to the company and who work very hard.
Cons
The reputation is so tarnished due to poor customer service and network unreliability, it is very difficult to convince customers to trust their business to XO.
Advice to Senior Management
Step up and make the investments or sell the company.
Pros
Talented individuals who valiantly make the best of some very substandard work processes.
Cons
Cash strapped, the company tends to go cheap when possible.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the field - they know better than you do on what needs to be done.
Pros
The only Pro there is to this company is the people you work with.
Cons
There is a vital lack of communication. Management takes all credit for what their teams do! It is like high school, friends get the promotions when other more qualified people are overlooked. There is no growth opportunities, if there is it is for senior managers, those jobs are taken by friends of the directors. Multiple friends of upper management may see their jobs dissapear but new jobs created for them, while others get laid off. Company is built on the who you know format. No raises in last three years. Company trying to say now it was the plan all along, good thing they communicated that after the fact. Bonuses always paid out to management, if your hourly your out of luck. Product launches are a joke, never tested. Great lack of training in multiple aspects of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Training is essential, your lack of listening will come back and haunt. Sad that once the economy turns around you will loose your key employees, for they are looking elsewhere.
Pros
Good for learning and mastering anything
Cons
No promotions, high medical rates and out of pocket $1800-3000 before insurance pays
Advice to Senior Management
Wake -UP! ATT and Verizon is going to bankrupt XO
Pros
Competitive benefits: medical, dental, legal, life, tuition reimbursement, 401K match, flexible spending account, liberal vacation policy, competitive salaries.
Cons
High and 'higher' deductible medical plans are only options; Inconsistent leadership; Morale is lowest in past 10 years.
Advice to Senior Management
Please set business goals, strategies, and objectives - that make sense - and stick to them and communicate them to the field regularly.
Pros
People are great- management is ok
Cons
Health benefits are crap- super high deductibles. No raises, no promotions.
Advice to Senior Management
try living on my salary
