    Pros

A good number of seasoned professionals in many positions

    Cons

In some departments, no employee career development. Way too much day-to-day focus. People get let go to meet budgets without regard to long-term impact and harm to morale.

Talk to employees about career paths and where department/company are going.

It was a good stepping stone for me, but long term I would have been stuck with bad pay.

    Pros

Information sharing and benchmarking across the globe was pretty good, but could have been better.
Able to make changes and feel like you're making a difference.
Nice people in the company. Plant I was at had a family feel to it.
CEO has set a good direction.
Strategy for growing the business is to develop new products and reduce "trapped cash".

    Cons

Upper management shifts, company let go of some good people and some people left because they were underpaid, myself included.
No rewards for a job well done at the plant level, but upper management gets all the reward and glory.
Not enough information sharing. Some plants are miles ahead of others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To keep qualified people you need to pay them what they're worth. Reward them for a job well done. No incentive to stick around. Seems like all the rewards are at the top.

With plants making the same things, you should do more information sharing. Especially when there's a big difference in performance from plant to plant. Need to bring them up to speed by sending technical folks from other plants to the under performing plants and vice versa.

Strategy that's been set is good, but implementation needs help.
