I have been working at Xerox full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It is a good company to work for with stability and great pay for easy work.

    Cons

They seam to pick facilities which always look a little run down and not cosmetically appealing.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Xerox still has good employees that care and work hard. Still has great name recognition.

    Cons

Micro management and no raises in 5 years. Upper management no regard for the "lower level" employees. Outsourcing common.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start caring for your employees. Stop taking raises at the top and ignoring the main line workers. Make people feel like they have a career path. Show a clear direction, Services vs. Technology.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I had a number of career opportunities, and was promoted several times. I was warned by my manager if I turned down a promotion, I would never get another opportunity. Good health benefits from the start.

    Cons

Pay for my mid-level management job was OK, but frankly not competitive with others in the same business. I regularly had good workers quit when offered a better salary. Training was rare. When I was first promoted, I asked about training, and he told me to "hit the ground running, and only call me if there is a problem."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Career planning with real future opportunities laid out in front of you would be a good motivator.

I worked at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Highly skilled employee base, good comraderie among employees. Work life balance positive.

    Cons

in past 7 or 8 years Company focused on offshore outsourcing almost blindly. Choosing to offshore even when it was not cost effective.
Compensation has stayed virtually flat for over 8 years and benefits continued to erode.
Purchase of ACS was disaster, project delivery capability very poor, schedules missed by significant margins.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Micromanagement and focus on outsourcing has led to significant sub-optimization of employee delivery capability and a significant degradation in employee morale.

I worked at Xerox full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You are able to come back even if you are fired from the job. Almost all jobs are 40+ hrs per week.

    Cons

There is a lot of favoritism and there does seem to be a glass ceiling there. also it is a bit hard to get a raise, sometimes you get a different position but the take sometime to up the actual pay.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Building a strong services franchise globally. Have some great businesses and some that need further nurturing yo maintain competitiveness. Strong pay for successful sales talent.

    Cons

Decentralized model makes it harder to leverage capabilities inside the firm. Moving to build a more robust global best practices model in key areas across the services business.
