I worked at Xerox full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Every once in awhile you would get a good manager who cared about the employees.

    Cons

Company only cared about having seats filled and about money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take your employees seriously. When you treat your employees like Kleenex then of course there will start to be a high turn around.

I worked at Xerox full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Fair pay and benefits, some interesting work.

    Cons

Poor decision making, run top down, unable to get anything done because of bureaucracy, stifling any innovation or pride in job. This company is run by a CEO playing with financial spreadsheets rather than talking to people, who is surrounded by executives playing politics and jockeying for position. No one at the top knows much, so makes poor decisions and then gets frustrated when the affected teams fail to perform.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of Ursula and the top couple of layers of executives, push decision making down to the people that know what is going on.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

If you throw a fit and demand a schedule change and go over the tc head. .and not follow the chain of command, you can get what you want.

    Cons

Tc no help.. No assistance in fixing screw ups... Paid incorrectly.. Micromanaging. .. No seniority .. And no raises ..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get someone who knows what they're doing and willing to help. Pay what supposed to and focus on less drama

I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Some flexibility in job hours. Lower level team leads care about the staff that they lead. Provides a good starting point for those who are just out of school.

    Cons

The upper managers are either under qualified or simply incompetent. There is no balance between work and life. Working 70 hour weeks is common. The company has high expectations but does not provide employees with the tools to succeed. Pay raises do not happen. The company looks to the outside for open positions rather than promoting from within.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to school and actually learn how to manage. Being a decent worker who has a lot of industry experience does not make you a leader.

I worked at Xerox full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice and friendly environment, nothing to say more

    Cons

The most important con is it seems a professional company however, everything is only bureaucracy and on the paper. There is no real professionalism, you feel completely swimming on your own in an ocean.
Too much bureaucracy and rules make even very small problems solved in a very long time, making them bigger then they are.No pro activity

    Poor location
    Poor salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate with your staff, try think about your rules again from the beginning.Put your feet to ground and realize where you are, what are you doing.
Keep a realistic strategy on the table and communicate this honestly with your employees.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits offered, some good people, the people who care really shows. They try incentives, endless overtime right now

    Cons

Most days you leave with a headache. They will hire just about anyone even if they have no qualifications. They don't train people as well a they should. There's room for growth if upper management likes you and you kiss some manger behind, but if you're just a really hard worker they'll just use you and abuse you until you finally leave. They are NO raises.... At least not at the Bolingbrook location... You leave at the end of the day feeling mistreated, ignored, and no longer caring for your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I realized this is an outsourcing call center, but you have to pay people they are worth. You have to train them to do their job with confidence. You have to hire people you have skills for the job. On top of that, don't just walk on the loyal people. Give people a real chance to move up and don't just promote someone because they do good for 2months and know how to kiss your behind. Those people will leave at the drop of the hat. And just because you clap loud and say go team all together doesn't mean you're motivating the agents... You look and sound rediculous, we hate it and so the customers.
