Former Employee – worked at Xerox
Pros – When originally hired it was for the health benefits which was at no cost to employees. In later years because of the economy, that changed.
Cons – Too much emphasis put on balanced workforce versus qualifications.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate honestly with employees and be open minded.

Current Employee – been working at Xerox
Pros – Talented peers/colleagues, legacy employees have deep knowledge.
Flexible work schedule, virtual work arrangements, generous vacation time.
Direct management communicate to staff effectively.
Cons – Compensation is an injustice. Mandating non sales employees put 20% of base pay at risk with unattainable targets to recover gap.
No raises for staff but C suite made sure the inner circle received increases.
Absolutely no retention plans. Mass exodus on the horizons. Morale at lowest levels EVER.
Ursula Burns is completely out of touch with employees and focused on her own aspirations.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on talent retention, compensate commensurate with performance. Bring in some externally sourced leadership to truly transform the organization -- print is dying on the vine.
Get rid of incompetent leadership, starting with Ursula. Did you hear her webcast today? All about ego with no depth.

Former Employee – worked at Xerox
Pros – Lots of opportunities to move around and work with bright people. I had the chance to work globally and was often the first female leader of large teams.
Cons – The strong, old culture damps down chances to try new things. WAY too much powerpoint blather. What matters is the influence of who you know, not how effective you are. Senior team is overpaid relative to the overall workforce and stockprice.
Advice to Senior Management – Be honest with yourselves on why hispanics do not remain with the company for very long no matter what you offer them - you might find out how to rejuvenate the culture.

Current Employee – been working at Xerox
Pros – My managers have been great and very flexible with my work schedule. I get to work on a variety of projects and build my skill set.
Cons – There are always layoffs, which leads to a lot of uncertainty. Money is tight, so there are not salary increases
Advice to Senior Management – Reward those who do a good job more. Do more to keep your young talent. Provide incentives to work hard.

Current Employee – been working at Xerox
Pros – You can have a good balance between work and family life.
There are many good and talented people to work with. Unfortunately more and more of them are leaving the company for something better.
Cons – Upside-down triangle structure: managers outnumber the people who do real work and deliver.
Some managers are toxic and abusive.
A lot of office politics.
Advice to Senior Management – You have to sincerely treat each employee as a human and respect their work and dedication instead of just using them for your personal gain.
Management has to EARN their respect and trust from the employees by their moral and professional behaviors.
It is really bad if the manager's goal is only to climb up the ladder at all expenses.
It is very damaging and corrupts the company culture when the upper management try to cover the unqualified managers' bad behaviors at all expenses.

Current Employee – been working at Xerox
Pros – benifits were once ok but some much anymore. there is still a laid back culture.
Once was a great place to work.
Cons – Downsizing engineers every year with out regard to product devep for the future. they would like to beceom a services co.
Advice to Senior Management – Please don't keep cutting back on engineering. The co still needs a future in printing.
It looks like outsourced printers is the future.

Current Employee – been working at Xerox
Pros – It beats unemployment. Certain groups find favor or remarkably flexible hours. If you fit the chosen group (ever shifting) you have significant opportunity to fail with minimal consequences.
Cons – Pay. Benefits. Advancement. Lack of senior management caring. Employees as commodities on a good day. No ethos. Management's view is "we manage and pay to the lowest common denominator." Reward and recognition is virtually non-existent for non-corporate officers. Employees (exempt) work ungodly hours due to inability to travel to do jobs while senior management hold meetings at Disney World Resort and attend Cirque du Soleil. Long term strategy is valid only until last week of quarter.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't forget what and who got you here. Reward and recognize all and consider benefits that have low or no cost (for example tell us to be healthier to reduce company medical benefits cost while shutting employee funded gyms). Listen to employees, some of you used to be us.
