I have been working at Xerox full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There are so many chances for advancement in this Webster ny facility it's ridiculous. If one had the will and the skill they are very willing to work with you and develop and mold you into what you want to become.

    Cons

If you are a single parent the scheduling is not east but if you have the will to make it happen, anything is possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the atmosphere as is. Especially in training.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You can get a lot of overtime.

    Cons

Low pay if you only work 40 hrs and the co-workers and work atmosphere are very ghetto or low class, unprofessional and inconsiderate to others taking calls. No real career opportunity or advancement. They try to promote that you can move up quickly to be a supervisor or senior agent or trainer however you will still be making the same amount of money. No one makes more than $11-12/hr and they only start you off at $10. You will not be compensated for your advancement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to have agents cut down on outside conversations while on the production floor. Customers complain that there's too much background noise and it sounds like a party. Also need to hire people with proper English speaking and pronunciation skills and an overall more professional demeanor and attitude. Better compensation for those who want to advance. No one makes more than $11-12.50/hr and they only start you off at $10.

    I worked at Xerox

    Pros

Learnt a lot in a span of two months, worked on many projects and the management encourages you to pick your own projects,
    Friendly management,
Lots of activities for interns apart from work, work and fun balanced.

    Cons

Age gap between management and interns is very high,
Webster is a bit of a dull and gloomy city.

    Cons

Company is top heavy, senior management does not show respect or gratitude for workers, 6 year pay freeze for workers while management is rewarded,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

Working with many very smart and talented people on interesting subjects.

    Cons

Research focus becoming very short term and revenue based. Risk aversion is hamstringing progress. Compensation not competitive. Promotions nearly non-existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to manage risk and take a chance on new areas.

I worked at Xerox as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

I had a summer internship at Xerox Research Center Webster. My research focuses on computer vision techniques and applications in vehicle driving.

    Cons

Not too many cons at this company. Pretty flexible and work-life balanced.

  9. Low pay, dirty work environment, no support from management

I worked at Xerox full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

If you need an entry level job and can pass a drug test, you'll get hired. I wish I could think of anything else that's positive.

    Cons

Activity based compensation is a myth. I was one of the top 10 ranked customer service reps and I was barely making more than $10 per hour. If you were having a good day and meeting call metrics, they would either slow down the calls coming in or pull everyone into a meeting. They were constantly hiring people with gold teeth who rarely bathed and couldn't follow the dress code. (Who wears glittered spandex pants to work?) The air vents look furry and black and make everyone sick. The bathrooms were always trashed within an hour of opening. Nobody knew how to flush a toilet or wash their hands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring anyone off the street. Hire quality people and actually pay them and you'll actually have a company.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Easy hiring, opportunities for advancement. Call center is expanding rapidly. 5 weeks of classroom training and two weeks transitioning to production with extra help. Most supervisor's I know got promoted within 6 months.

    Cons

    Very cubicle-another-cog-in-the-machine type of job.

I worked at Xerox full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Basic entry level opportunity to know BPO industry
Opportunities to explore various products and services
    Can build communication skills
    Regular full time work

    Cons

    No long term incentives
    No career advancement
    Poor compensation
    Dishonest recruiting methods
Superficial behavior used to convince job applicants of accepting undesirable jobs
    Mean HR reps
    Rigid onboarding process
    Hostile work environment
    Bad leaders

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prepare for future closing of your kingdom unless you build you business model, strategies, and culture on sound, moral principles that satisfy everyone. Your competitors Concentrix, Sutherland, Dial America, and CallVista have multiple problems that will not go away. You are the furthest behind them.
