Pros6 weeks of training to handle customers on the phone. Helped with the basics but felt lost on the computers. Quick promotional opportunities said to be available.

ConsCall center workers deal with a lot of customer dissatisfaction and customer abuse.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed more computer based training to effectively deal with customers.

Good place work as an Intern

I worked at Xerox as an intern for less than a year

ProsIt's wonderful place for internship. You will get paid almost the same as the full-time employee. Usually, an intern will get a very interesting project to work. At the end of the internship, there is a post session just for interns to present their works.

ConsThe company is confusing. Since there is very limit market for printers, people are trying to work in different areas where they are not good at them.

Downhill for years

ProsEarns you a paycheck, some really great people to work with. One of a few large companies still employing technical folks in the area. Now able to purchase an extra week of vacation/

ConsStagnent compensation, management continues to get bonuses everyone else gets nothing.
Management professes an 'open door' policy but doesn't follow through.
Direction of the company seems rudderless.
Management overly concerned about time in office opposed to getting work done, doesn't allow working for home except in emergencies.
Offshore focus regardless of quality of delivered product or turn around time.

Xerox used to be a great company to work for and now they are tightening their belt way too tight

Pros- Lots of different jobs are available
- Good salary
- Good vacation, holidays, and personal time
- Most people are nice and willing to help anyone

Cons- No job security, too many layoffs
- Primary business is in a declining market
- Benefits are terrible
- No communication from above

Advice to Senior Management- Fire the CEO
- Communicate more often with relevant information
- Improve the medical benefits
- Care more about your employees
