I have been working at Xtreme Consulting full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I have been with the company for just under five years. This is a young fast growing company with great leadership in the CEO. The internal staff is very friendly and the company hosts great events where you get a chance to meet everyone. There are many opportunities for employment and growth in your career. Salary and benefits package is great with PTO included for most employees.

    Cons

Communication about changes within the company is poor and it seems there has been quite a bit of internal turnover in the past six months. I also wish Xtreme had a 401k match.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate better with your employees. Understand the strengths of the company and what separates Xtreme from the competition and keep building on that.

I worked at Xtreme Consulting full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They tried their best to get the best salary possible for their employees.
    Did support outside interests.
Was able to work with the organization on and between contracts.
Great work-life balance. Was able to work at home most of my tenure.

    Cons

Organization is geared towards service support engineering, where my career was software developer.
Wished they had listened to my request because I did provide a benefit to the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When an employee notices something wrong, listen.

I have been working at Xtreme Consulting full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule, no micro management

    Cons

Flat organization with little opportunities for career growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to clearly define mission of the business. It is clearly staffing with very little true consulting.

I have been working at Xtreme Consulting as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Management cares about employees and is hands off enough to let us do what we do best. Great pay and benefits.

    Cons

Upward growth difficult on vendor roles, but this is the nature of vendor work. 401k match would be great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your Fargo ND manager at all costs.

    Pros

Pros - $$, benefits, summer parties, Christmas party.

    Cons

Cons - If there was a vision, it wasn't shared out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Xtreme Consulting full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The owners are involved and truly care about their employees. Lori is an advocate for her employees and finds the right fit for them, not the right person for the job. Company is great at helping you advance your career, even if that means working for another company.

    Cons

When working in vendor roles, you do not get annual reviews and salary increases.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide feedback to employees obtained by proactively seeking feedback from vendor managers. Do annual reviews with salary increase.

I worked at Xtreme Consulting full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible, nimble, and supportive. Were able to help cut through the client red tape and make things happen. Very responsive towards my needs as a remote employee dealing with an unfamiliar client culture. Very flexible with my odd benefits request.

    Cons

It's never easy working remotely, from the vendor client or corporate offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A bit more orientation to the company for remote employees would be very helpful. Never really figured out how to be a part of things or how to establish a long term relationship.

I have been working at Xtreme Consulting full-time

    Pros

When looking for a new company to work for, I was looking for an opportunity to do software testing and test automation. I happened upon Xtreme and was given the great opportunity to learn a new language and test harness on a contract project. Once that project completed, I was converted to a full time employee with great benefits and more new opportunities.

    Cons

The only thing missing from Xtreme is a matching 401k plan for full time employees. That would round out what I would say is a great place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The review and feedback process seems incomplete. At this point there doesn't seem to be an official process in place for full time employees at branch offices. Work in progress?

    Pros

Availability of health benefits, vacation, PTO.

    Cons

After hired, you're just another number.... Employee Relations Representative

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employee relations representative should not stop by unannounced..... Random "drop bys" at as many offices as you can in passing makes for interruptions within the work day.....Also speaking about your own personal life, drama, and husband for 40 minutes+ is unprofessional.
