I have been working at Yahoo full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the smartest people I worked with in my career were from Yahoo. You get to do some really interesting work and learn a lot here. HR policies are good with a nice work life balance.

    Cons

Too many changes at the top level led to shifting priorities. Road maps were made and abandoned and this led to a drop in morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stable policies are important to keep employee morale high.

I have been working at Yahoo full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Yahoo, is one of the best companies to work with. Its values, the talent base, perqs, etc. Over the years, I have seen a lot of good things happening. First thing that attracted me was the culture - people were so friendly and healthy, early days the managers were so good and motivating. Then, there have been ups and downs like any other company. As a company, it is progressing well. The latest strategies, the latest innovation plans and strategies are quite encouraging and motivating.

    Cons

There have been downs as well. I have had in average 2 managers per year. And many things are tied to your manager. Thus, this is a big minus. From my perspective, Salary is the biggest con. Opportunities are sometimes not equally given to all; this is again a drawback. So, Career growth takes a toll, at times (for some).

I have been working at Yahoo full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Internet Domain offers very good technical challenges

    Cons

Tools and infrastructure technologies used are outdated and not on par with industry. This causes valuable time on site up activities rather than developing new capabilities.
Quality of the products is poor. Takes away job satisfaction for quality conscious engineers.
Performance evaluation is very subjective and mostly tied with visibility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please get the performance evaluation right. Rating is very subjective now.
