Pros – Very, VERY comfortable work environment and perks. Excellent as a 9-5 job for a young parent. Great food, good daycare, friendly and smart people. Compensations are fairly reasonable.

Cons – Most people seem to be outright bored of their jobs. Much of the work is tied up in a tangle of processes and overhead upon incremental updates, with projects indefinitely sitting in maintenance mode.

Advice to Senior Management – Yahoo! commands a massive but aging customer base, and cannot expect to stay in business unless it begins innovating and expanding into new platforms (and that doesn't mean just a better ad platform or richer content). Yahoo! still commands respect among the research community, it really ought to focus on monetizing its research output better.

Pros – high level of responsibility, great exposure to Internet technology, fairly good culture. The company has turned a corner with the new leadership in Sunnyvale.

Cons – Policies haven't always been on par with the employee policies in the US, but that is slowly changing. In general work life balance suffers as weekly demands are very high on employees who are in a constant state of racing to get something done.
