To listen to what your workers say about improvements needed in the workplace, keep an open mind, stop playing favorites, don't make promises you cant keep!

I have been working at Yale-New Haven Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good teamwork and support from coworkers and management. Excellent educational opportunities, exceptional attending doctors.

    Cons

Inflexible scheduling, way too much concern about irrelevant charting that continues to get longer and takes time away from patient care. Something that took 3 steps now takes 6 for charting purposes only. We are "punished" for using out rightfully earned PTO benefits buy getting points which lead to write ups and/or termination. Significantly lower pay than other hospitals.

I worked at Yale-New Haven Hospital part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a great place to work if you like to learn, since this is a teaching hospital they give their employees the opportunity to learn in the job setting they are in. They also give you the opportunity to make the extra money you need to help with added expenses in your life. They have all kind of incentive that will keep you in a happy place.

    Cons

The only cons is that this hospital care about their patients so they expect your to have the same attitude when working around them.

    Advice to Management

I like the way management recognize great workers from the one who are not so great, and they reward them as they see fit, Keep up the great work management!!!!

I have been working at Yale-New Haven Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of employee programs you can take advantage of. A stable hospital with qualified finance team that keeps it that way.

    Cons

It's a big place they try to communicate to employees but unless it's your section of the hospital you don't hear about it.

    Advice to Management

They really work middle management hard. They can add things to your job without notice.
