    Pros

    Pip- performance incentive check yearly after 1000 hrs, subsidized benefits starting at 24 hrs. Employee recognition programs. Looks great on a resume, financially stable.

    Great hospital with a very dedicated staff. Overall management is good. Good relationships between nursing and physicians.

    Cons

    Very large and busy acedemic medical center. If you are looking for a hospital where you will learn everyone's names - then Yale New Haven is not for you.

    Great place to work. There is a good cafe with healthy food. Staff is very friendly. I enjoyed working here.

    Cons

    I did not work here long enough to really see many cons. I did notice errors that staff made, but people make mistakes.

    Pros

    -1 or 2 patients in icu. Absolutely no more than 2... Very strict on that
    - paperless
    -collaboration between rn, md, rt, family at rounds
    -new grad icu orientation 5-6 months
    -family environment - my coworkers are my best friends

    Cons

    -rotating schedule
    -No self schedule
    - work every other weekend. Weekends are fri sat sun
    -cafeteria food
    -monthly parking fees ($60/month)
