Pros
Opportunity to rapidly learn how to solve a broad range of technical issues, opportunity to interact with and learn from industry veterans, earning potential below management level is relatively high
Cons
Not a very good work/life balance and workforce can become very frustrated during long, intense work periods or during renegotiation of the agreement with the trade union.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate information more frequently about the progress of the lengthy but necessary process changes that you are planning, to the employees who are frustrated with the processes that are are not working. If they see that change is planned, it will help to bolster them through difficult work periods until implementation of the improved processes.
