I worked at Yellow Pages Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You had some leeway with flex-time. Though your select hours were set, you were allowed to choose your time. They even offered employees the opportunity to work 4 days a week. The work was simple and mostly consistent. Every week or two was a team meeting where everyone could express their opinions about the work and suggest ideas to make things go smoother. Overall, this was a good company.

    Cons

I did not like the down times. I'm someone who needs to be busy all the time, and though you were allowed the option to take online skill sessions (receiving a certificate upon completion), they were tedious at times. Though a good company, there wasn't much room to move up as they were in the process of cutting positions and bringing over employees from Canada to run management positions.

    Advice to Management

None. They were all very welcoming, despite their titles.

I worked at Yellow Pages Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the employees seem pretty cool, they have a fairly laid back attitude and as long as you are pulling your weight you are pretty much free to go about your business. Fairly flexible schedules- pay was decent as well.

    Cons

I felt that the benefits could be better- pick up more of the tab on the health insurance- because the employee shoulders most of the cost. There are lay offs from time to time- but more on the print side- so be wary of that... go for digital positions those are more likely to be stable.

    Advice to Management

Try not to play favorites. It discourages others from wanting to try to move up in the company.

  6. Helpful (1)

Great experience. But transition through ownership. At time not much mobility.

I worked at Yellow Pages Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

C-Level / VPs are at the top of their game, especially in the marketing and digital. The plan and vision of this company makes a lot of sense, and they are investing at the right place with recent acquisitions, and massive hiring of entry-level talent on the tech side. Very advanced on the analytics side.

    Cons

Layers and layers of useless middle management on the business side. Pathetic General Management / senior management for the YP core digital products.

    Advice to Management

When a whole team tells you they hate their boss, it's usually not a good idea to wait for the team to quit.

    Pros

Great compensation. Lots of awesome training good management. Fun perks.

    Cons

Customers and the CRM system tend to give you the most issues. The process of entering sales takes the most time. My direct boss seemed not very trustworthy.

    Advice to Management

Keep putting an emphasis on sales training. Also many PMA roles are unnecessary. I've ne made a sale with my PMA I think her role was useless.
