Pros
Relaxed enviornment - good people- hard dedicated staff
Cons
Downtown parking / commute is costly
Advice to Senior Management
Suggest more discussion regarding career advancement next steps to avoid loss of talented employees.
Pros
The field of interactive marketing is an exciting one and there is a lot of high energy here in the company with great camaraderie. Management style is highly collaborative and hands off. You are trusted to know your stuff and are given free hand to do it.
Yesmail expects its employees to perform - that's why they are hired in the first place. Management does a pretty good job of culling dead weight. This means that those that work here aren't shouldered with the burden of taking on the extra work left by lazy co-workers.
Cons
The health care package is absolutely abysmal - but that's the fault of the parent company, infoGROUP. High deductible ($4000 per year!!), high monthly premium, and you pay FULL PRICE on all prescription drugs *until* you hit your yearly deductible.
The 401k plan is ridiculous too - but what do you expect from the same team at infoGROUP that brings you the health care package? All the funds included in the plan are the worst performers in their class.
Advice to Senior Management
Yesmail is moving full speed ahead regardless of the parent company. Keep putting the pedal to the metal. Stay aggressive, stay enthusiastic, and keep rewarding your employees for the hard work they do.
Pros
The majority of the people there are very professional and pleasant to work with.
Downtown location
Bonus structure.
Products are very flexible and powerful
They remain profitable
Cons
Long hours and Lots of late nights with little recognition or thanks.
Really sucky benefits
No mentoring or career path coaching.
Bonus plan changes for no apparent reason.
Advice to Senior Management
No unified management view. Need to create a vision, foster teamwork and create a better culture.
Pros
great location in portland, right on the green line and bus mall, good view from the office, tea and coffee service in break rooms.
Cons
Between march 09 and june 09 this company fired 3 systems administrators, 1 programmer, and its tech support manager. this company goes thru employees and throws them away. sr management is doomed by group thinking and doesn't listen to technical advise. this is a miserable place to work. think twice before quitting a job elsewhere to work for this place. very long hours on call and dealing with inadequacies that have accumulated over time.
Advice to Senior Management
fire most of the mid to mid-senior level management most of it is dead wood. analyze employee treatment and adhere more carefully to labor laws to stay out of trouble. split off from infogroup they are dragging yesmail down.
