    Pros

The field of interactive marketing is an exciting one and there is a lot of high energy here in the company with great camaraderie. Management style is highly collaborative and hands off. You are trusted to know your stuff and are given free hand to do it.

Yesmail expects its employees to perform - that's why they are hired in the first place. Management does a pretty good job of culling dead weight. This means that those that work here aren't shouldered with the burden of taking on the extra work left by lazy co-workers.

    Cons

The health care package is absolutely abysmal - but that's the fault of the parent company, infoGROUP. High deductible ($4000 per year!!), high monthly premium, and you pay FULL PRICE on all prescription drugs *until* you hit your yearly deductible.

The 401k plan is ridiculous too - but what do you expect from the same team at infoGROUP that brings you the health care package? All the funds included in the plan are the worst performers in their class.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Yesmail is moving full speed ahead regardless of the parent company. Keep putting the pedal to the metal. Stay aggressive, stay enthusiastic, and keep rewarding your employees for the hard work they do.

    Pros

If it wasn't for the team I worked with, I would have left much earlier. Learn to handle a lot of responsibilities in a short amount of time. Fast pace.

    Cons

Not appreciated by management or rewarded. Only time that they give you a raise is if you show them an offer letter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire from the bottom up. Email managers do a lot of work so stop underpaying them and trying to hire cheap!

    Pros

Compensation at Yesmail is great. Great bonus program. Vacation time is great. (Minimum 3 weeks)

Great corporate culture, fun teams to work with.

    Cons

Employees are expected to work very long hours. Don't be suprised if you are working until 9-10pm and on weekends.

Senior management seems to be pretty distant from Satelite offices, rare visits from managers.

Being a subsidary of a larger company (InfoGroup) often means getting things done is slow, equipment requests, expense pay outs etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be closer with your satelite offices. Take notice, Yesmail exists outside of the walls of the Portland office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing, other than getting better benefits (health/medical) than infoUSA currently offers.

I have been working at Yesmail full-time

    Pros

Flexible hours, work from home policy

    Cons

No job secure, lots of laying off here. Almost every month you see people leave, whether resigned or lay offs. Not much career growth, little to NO raise, don't even talk about bonuses. Also, long hours depending on which department you work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know how to keep your good employees. They worth more than your clients.
