Pros
Opportunity to learn new technologies and gain valuable work experience
Flexibility @ work
Solid customer base
Great suite of Financial Products
Plenty of opportunity to grow
Cons
Poor Quality delivery of product releases
Too many releases in shorter time frame
Not enough time given to Product and Engineering design
Very short development cycle leading to many defects affecting quality and impacting clients
Too much time spent on fixing defects (some are proud of fixing more!)
Inexperienced management in offshore office given big responsibilities
Inefficiencies across some important groups that are responsible for quality delivery of product releases (too many people leading to this)
Advice to Senior Management
Give more responsibilities, decision making powers and resources to team in US where clients are stationed.
Identify inefficiencies in the system and make corrective actions
Focus on Customer Satisfaction for potential future growth
Pay attention to customer feedback for making improvements
Pros
# Opportunity to learn new technology
# Freedom to do things
# Work from home option
# Flexibility
Cons
# Management keeps saying no employee should work in an organization for more than 5 yrs
# 4 out of 5 working days, late night calls with the team overseas.
# No recognition is ever given to true talent. The manager who talks more gets his team all the awards.
# Used to pay good compensation earlier and during interview negotiation. Once you have joined no proper increment is given. For few years absolutely no increment was given even after getting a rating of 4 out of 5.
# Only promotions (with all additional responsibilities) but without any increase in compensation even during yearly appraisal. Budget is never allocated to do correction in compensation according to the designation you are promoted to.
# Cheap HR policies like :you are allowed to accumulate 30 paid leaves. But those cannot be used when you want to quit and negotiate on the 2 months notice period. If you want to en-cash the accumulated leaves, they will pay you only for the #of working days in the month and not the whole 30 leaves accumulated. Also while paying the amount, only Basic + DA (which is purposely kept very low) is paid. But if you want to negotiate and willing to pay for leaving early, you will be asked to pay for calendar days(not working days) and the whole CTC (not just Basic + DA).
Advice to Senior Management
Its about time to make some real money. Had enough of success stories of competitors.
Pros
Overall it was a good experience
Cons
Its a very fast paced environment
Pros
# Fast paced - You can learn as much as you can and contribute like wise, that is if you have at least some information on why you are designing/ coding as you do.
# The application I worked on was very interesting . If they had someone to at least give some orientation, it is a very nice business flow to know.
# Some systems are designed with very high end technologies and frameworks. Its very good to work on them.
Cons
# No guidance/documentation.
# Other employees Hide information about the working of system or any other information which is helpful to get the job done even if they do know .
# Very dissatisfied with the way they show partiality towards certain section of people.
This section of people just "talked" ...and never "worked" .
#Very confused workplace.
# Expects you to work evenings and weekends with out even asking you. If you do not comply, you are fired.
# Unwritten rule is your weekday starts on Friday and ends by Friday , as there was always an issue to work on from Friday evening.
Advice to Senior Management
# No advice, as they really know what should be done, but simply --there is no room to do it.
Pros
You can gain good technical knowledge after slogging out day and night, if you are working in a right team.
Cons
1. No career development, promotions and hikes.
2. After joining this company you will be working under a technically incompetent manager who will make sure that every drop of blood from your body is squeezed. He will not let you relax even for 5 mins and keep on assigning tasks.
3. You will be asked to work on weekends without any compensatory offs.
4. Engineers are not recognized for their hard work.
5. Company culture is bad, employees are squeezed to the maximum extent as if they don't have right to live their personal lives.
6. People are threatened to be fired if they don't obey unreasonable demands from their managers.
7. Only boot lickers in management can secure promotion and scale up in the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Management comprise of those people who will not get another job if fired from yodlee.
They are highly incompetent. So I don't think any advice is worth giving.
Pros
> Flexibility
> Nice Working culture
> Good people around
> Good blend of Professional and Personal relationship
> Cutting edge technology
> Good policies for employees
Cons
> Less Pay
> Lesser visibility
> No transparency in promotions and appraisals
> No certain plan for professional growth of employees specifically in data teams
> Managers of certain teams are incapable of taking decisions
Advice to Senior Management
> You have retained your people in the worst of market downfalls, now do not loose them. The way Yodlee's business run is because of the solid foundation given by your superiors. Once it collapses you may outrun. Yodlee has grown not because of its better product but because of the commitment of employees towards works and the passion to make it successful. Unfortunately you are on loosing spree for both. People need rewarded after their long commitment like 5 yrs in company and also favours in terms of career growth which was there earlier but now has vanished. DO NOT OVERLOOK IT. EMPLOYEES ARE YOUR STRENGTH DONT LOOSE THEM.
> Even if I will no longer be part fo Yodlee but having worked here for 6 years since the begining of my career I will always wish the best for Yodlee and will hope to come back someday when I be in a position of a manager who will have the ideas to take it to the next level. ALL THE BEST.
Pros
Once used to be a good place to work, no more.
Work from home is a thing which is meant for higher management, No wonder they say a great place to work.
Cons
Older ( stayed in Yodlee for a long time) can blind higher management. They can play petty politics , If they don't like your innovative ideas.
No good infrastructure:
No place to refresh your self: there used to be a recreation room which is now immersing a meeting room.
You work hard, bring in new ideas, but no body appreciates.
Don't get surprised if you were asked to work on weekends, if you refuse they ask you to apply Privileged leaves.
No work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
Get more customers, so that business does not get impacted if you loose one customer.
Pros
> good company for freshers to start
> compensation
> work environment
Cons
>lot of stress
>Support team works on outdated technology
>No career growth..developer, senior developer, lead ..all do same job
Advice to Senior Management
manage resources better.. few jobs out there can be executed by freshers just out of college.. you don't need to hire senior engineers and pay them to get it done
Pros
I would say Yodlee is one of the best employers I've worked for in my career as it relates to benefits and perks. The work life balance is great. You're treated like a professional, and no one watches over your shoulder, or keeps track of when you come and go. As long as you get your work done and don't let anything drop you're given amazing flexibility, which is fantastic for working parents. Also, ALL health care benefits for the whole family are completely paid for by the company! And there's a kitchen stocked with food at all times. The people are smart and friendly, and depending on the department you're in, can be very fun to hang out with too.
Cons
The innovation and products are great, but the quality and deployments leave something to be desired. The company needs to focus more on execution and quality control, rather than coming up with new ideas and products.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on perfecting the great products you already have an offer to clients, before moving on to the next great idea.
Pros
People are good
Benefits are good
Work is average
Cons
Work many hours at a time
morale low
appreciate lacking
Advice to Senior Management
human capital is important - appreciate your employees
