    Pros

The working atmosphere is really great, we start the shift off with an ice breaker and this helps us get comfortable with our coworkers and to eliminate a bad mood. The team leaders were all very understanding and friendly.

    Cons

Sometimes you will have bad calls where the person does not want to talk or is rude but this all end with the call.

    Pros

Flexible hours, ability to work remotely

    Cons

Contract was too short (around 2 months)

    Advice to Management

Have more of these opportunities available to students (at the undergraduate level) - had I not been proactive about wanting this type of position, I would have never come across such an opportunity.

    Pros

Lots of interactions with alumni so you know what it's like to be out in the field. Trained you well and gave you lots of scripts so you're not at a loss. Lots of coaching sessions to help you improve if you were struggling. Stickers gave you five minutes off work to leave early if you want.

    Cons

Felt like they were treating you a child. Weren't allowed to talk to anyone, got scolded if you took too many breaks. The material they give you to use in scripts wasn't always updated. There wasn't an overall sense of excitement in work place even though they tried to foster it

    Advice to Management

Be more lenient. Allow people to bring in their books or browse the internet if they're just listening to a phone dial for 3 hours.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Support staff are helpful and pleasant.

    Cons

Not enough time to develop accounts. You’ll be fired just as sales start to come in.

    Advice to Management

    It is unethical to:
Charge clients differing amounts for identical services
Fire AE’s to convert their accounts to non-commissionable house-accounts

    Cons

    - IT supports and payroll system really slow
    - Food sucks, really sucks

    - Slightly above minimum pay for part time workers

    Advice to Management

    - Add more food variety to Yorklane's non-junk-food selection.

    Pros

Compensation for student funding is good. You also get a lot of teaching experience which is part of your funding package.

    Cons

To get the full funding package, you have to teach a lot which takes away from your own research time and can be a source of distraction especially when you have to deal with student questions.

    Advice to Management

I think that York University could provide a minimum funding for all graduate students and teaching should be optional. Also, they need to target better students into their programs.
