    Pros

Potential for growth; provided your production reflects your hard work

    Cons

Lack of training and development for GM's. Could use a dedicated program to develop them more.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop well rounded managers

    Pros

Love working in a gym. Always something different. Great members and coworkers. They provide a great four level process to moving from entry level towards management.

    Cons

The know what they want and if you aren't it you won't go anywhere.
Fast growing company so changes can occur quickly.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do. I love my career here.

    Pros

I love the people I work with, free gym membership, meeting new people

    Cons

For $8 an hour this company expects WAY too much from you. All they care about are SALES SALES SALES. If they're not making money, they make you go out and practically drag people in to get a membership. Exactly like a car dealership. There's way more to this job than what the job description entitles

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more and maybe it'll be worth everything you expect of us

    Pros

Free gym membership. A good first job (for a duration of no more than a couple of months) because you learn basic sales, administration, and familiarize yourself with a "churn & burn" business model. See Advice to Management.

    Cons

*Pay--From the top down, restructuring occurs frequently to keep employees from ever being financially comfortable.
*Unqualified leadership at the very top, nonsensical structure and organization.
    *Unethical norms, practices, culture
*Read consumer and Better Business Bureau reports. 50% of them are true.

    Advice to Management

Sell your basic membership for $15/month as opposed to $10, and your lime card membership for $25/month as opposed to $20. By doing this, you can eliminate the need for maintenance fees, hidden fees, processing fees, and the sleezy, dishonest euphemisms when pitching memberships. Doing this will reduce member dissatisfaction by 80%. Reduce the micro management and hostility toward the managers/trainers who work their tails off for you 60hrs a week, but get paid for 42.5. Allow the trainers to be themselves. You will encounter less troubles and greater employee/membership retention if you pay a little more for rent and stop planting your gyms in the "bad part of town"--middle and upper class individuals like deals as well. Allow your employees to use the restroom. If the front desk is responsible for selling personal training and memberships, pay them fairly. Do not make employees work off the clock during their breaks.

If you're a unqualified teen its a average first Job. Not Good for people adults seeking advancement or competitive pay.

    Pros

You work in a gym! The gym members are pretty nice. The staff normally mesh decent. Working hours are more flexible then other jobs.

    Cons

The pay is horrible. Start pay is $8 but expect much more then job description for 8. Never give raises and if they did they cap out at $18 GM. $10 front desk . $12h for the Director of the Personal Training Department! $8 paid to train per session!
But Clients training cost is $25-50 per session. Training $$$$ Monthly goals are unrealistic for many areas. Its a Bargain price gym that's located 90% of the time in you're average income to lower income neighborhood. Unless you get to work in gym with desireable market for training in Carrollwood or Weston or Boca, ie places where avg household income is over +60k and avg age of populus is 40-70 you will never hit you're always increasing monthly goal therefore recieving youre entire bonus which is 70 percent of you're income.

Policies fluctuate way too much. Gym employee culture in Youfit is Similar to used car dealerships SALE SALE SALE and not about fitness.

    Advice to Management

Pay the employees. Stop expanding ans start paying the people who work for you. If your Regional Managers or Training directors make less then 100k base then you are wrong. You're GM and Training Director make less then 70k then your are wrong. Your DIT and MIT (managers-in-training) make less then 40k then you are wrong. Your Front Desk Specialist who also clean , do inventory, logistics, and administrative functions could work 50 hrs a week, and with time and half included net $720 in a 2 week pay period for 12 months and net 17k in one year! THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. This should be a 25k year position no brainer. The receptionist at the doctors office makes 23k
