    Pros

Good, smart people to work with before current management take over.
Lots of developer control and decision making.
    Really nice flexibility.

    Cons

New management comes from a very large corporation. They are trying reinvent the entire company with no industry knowledge. New guy brought in literally a dozen of his friends to work for him. Typical immature wannabe hot shot who likes throwing around the "my way or the highway" line.

    Advice to Management

Scrap the leadership of the Digital Services department, cut your losses, and start over.

    Pros

Only enjoyed working with the new people and friends that were there. Another pro was they had a refrigerator... yes that called a "benefit"

    Cons

Old "farming" families work there, they don't like anyone new or new ideas. They treat new people horrible! No "thank yous" were made to the number or extra hours worked at night weekend, etc.

    Advice to Management

The upper management is the problem. Look at who no one will stand up to...can't do much because human resource is part of the problem.

No investment and extremely poor senior management equates to company performance that is hidden from employees

    Pros

The individual contributor level of employee's are will to do what it takes. They want to succeed more than anything as the team has been there for literally decades and the truly know how to run the business! Let them do so!

    Cons

The IT team is in shambles... They do not have a true leader to push them forward. Erase that slate and start new as the current management does not have the foresight to even begin to resolve the issues.

A big issue is the "good old boys" network that needs to stop. The Senior management needs to truly get off their high horse and work in the trenches to resolve the issues that are facing the company.

Lastly - sales... The previous CEO was inept in every sense of the word here and caused all sorts of undue drama with the customers, but they haven't sold anything in literally years so the outlook is grim to say the least

    Advice to Management

Become contributors in your own right. Do not just delegate - actually grab the bull by the horns and do what is right to save your company!

    Pros

Excellent exposure to other bright staff. A decent location, and adequate software tools to get your job done. Free parking because you're in the middle of nowhere.

    Cons

Competition with outsourced employees can feel threatening. It feels like mdanagement tends to view the large employee area as one big garbage room ripe to be 'compacted'.

    Advice to Management

Diversify your business lines or your company will suffer. Cutting costs to growth is not a long term strategy.

    Pros

Nothing positive came from working here.

    Cons

The company is 40 plus years old and so is the working mentallity of the same people that have worked there for 30 years! Very small town environment and most time spent by people is local town gossip. They don't care and dont want new ideas or new people to contribute!

Great atmosphere and environment (besides the upper-management).

    Cons

    Pros

Flexible hours, easy to book vacation time off due to the nature of the workplace. Time passes by quickly because you are constantly busy.

    Cons

Desks are uncomfortable to sit at, lack of growth opportunity made the workplace stale. Employees weren't trained enough for the first month or two.

    Pros

Good coworkers with excellent work ethic.
Opportunity to work with newer technologies.
    Freedom to set technical direction.
    Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Micromanagement seems to be a trend. My manager was afraid to make a decision without consulting with his manager.
Blatant incompetence by senior management, and a tendency to bring in outside friends posing as consultants. The consultant responsible for operations basically singlehandedly ruined morale and profitability at the company.

    Advice to Management

Your employees care about the company and will do what it takes to make it successful. You just need someone at the helm who can set a direction and keep morale high - the folks in the trenches will do the rest.
