A rewarding experience.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Young Life as an intern for more than a year

ProsVery positive experience and can be very rewarding working with kids, sharing the gospel, and spreading God's love around the community.

ConsEven though it's a good organization, the depth of things talked about at YoungLife can be quite shallow when it comes to Christianity.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake some risk, share the gospel without backing down. Stand firm and don't be shallow.

I have been working at Young Life part-time

ProsLove Young Life and its mission. The people I've met are great, and I've loved my experience with Young Life. I've learned a lot about leading people towards Christ, and what it means to live and walk with Christ in my daily life. The mentorship I've received in terms of learning how to do ministry and relationally walk and build up people has been outstanding.

ConsFundraising is difficult unless you know someone who is willing to help support you.

Young Life is much more than a job - it's a family, community and amazing mission to be a part of!"

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Young Life part-time for more than 3 years

ProsYoung Life's mission to share Jesus with students and help them walk and grow in their faith.
Community of amazingly fun, talented and creative staff and volunteers.

ConsYou won't want to work anywhere else ever.

Advice to Senior ManagementMany of Young Life's departments and the "org chart" if you will of command within those departments is very unclear and changes too often to keep up with.

I have been working at Young Life part-time for less than a year

ProsLeading is a very fulfilling experience with eternal relevance. It's a tremendously fun job quite often. There is lots of room to be creative! It is tremendously exciting seeing high school students meet or grow closer to Christ & getting to walk with them in their pursuit of Him.

ConsCOntact work can be very time-consuming. Kids can be some times frustrating, and certainly emotionally trying at times.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage, encourage, encourage your team! Deliberately push team-bonding among volunteer leaders! Lead by example in your pursuit of Christ and wisdom.
