I have been working at ZF Friedrichshafen part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone in the workplace is highly motivated, and want to help each other succeed even when it does not benefit them individually. Upper management is completely open door, and want to help or answer questions whenever possible. Training is thorough and lengthy as long as an employee feels they need it.

    Cons

Tasks can be dauntingly repetitive and unchanging. Job quickly becomes a daily routine with little variety and innovation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Require all leadership roles to develop a pitch of a new innovative way to perform their current job responsibilities. Reports should have regular semi-annual or bi-annual due dates as to when they are to be presented to upper management. This will promote continuous improvement as well as keep employees fresh and motivated in the workplace.

I worked at ZF Friedrichshafen full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They help you learn and grow the skills you need to advance in your field. I was given a lot of leeway to pursue the jobs I wanted as well as give specific tasks to develop.

    Cons

The bureaucracy that surrounds the company makes it difficult to get some things done in an efficient manner. There are only one way to do certain jobs when corporate gets involved and it isn't the most efficient at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the people who are responsible for their departments do their jobs before getting higher management involved in areas where it will only slow a task down. Rather let the employees work it out and get the job done.

    Pros

This company is experiencing explosive growth, and as a result, offers many opportunities for broadening your knowledge and career, especially if you are an engineer.

    Cons

There aren't many downsides to working for this company. It may depend on your particular situation or section. As long as you perform well and professionally, you will be recognized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership is struggling with managing the growth, since it is, literally, exponential. But this is a good problem to have. They need to plan better.
