I have been working at ZF Group NAO full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

This is my first job, and I was hired after graduating college with no job/internship experience -- I like that they give young engineers a chance here. I work with a great group of like-minded engineers in my age range who all have similar interests, hobbies, and good work ethic. To me, this is more important than making a little more money somewhere else. Also, Less than 6 months after I was hired on full time, I was sent to Germany for 2 weeks for training/networking.

    Cons

This facility is relatively young, and is still in its growing stages; thus, sometimes I have to be a jack of all trades to get done what needs to be done. Due to the rapid rate of growth there are some issues with company organization/communication which are still being ironed out, but I am optimistic that in time the company will become more mature and well-established.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise management to take note of those who work hard and show initiative, and to be sure to reward them accordingly -- in terms of monetary compensation as well as opportunities for further development in their field. Those who work the hardest and take on the most responsibilities become the most indispensable, so I understand that (for example) sending them to Germany for 2 weeks of training can be difficult to arrange; however, they will never reach their full potential if they are not given opportunities for further development in their field. (I am not talking about myself here)

I worked at ZF Group NAO as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Loved the people I worked with, and loved the business itself. Fast paced environment, felt like I was being challenged.

    Cons

It felt like a lot of the supervisors were only interested in pointing fingers and not taking responsibility for themselves or their mistakes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better company vision for all level of employees.

I have been working at ZF Group NAO (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The thing I like most about ZF is that they only expand/invest if they have the cash to back it up. They make wise business choices and have a vision for the future that seems reachable and makes sense.

    Cons

As ZF is wise with money, I feel that salary/benefits suffer a little. When comparing to similar tier 1 suppliers for similar jobs, I find my salary/benefits slightly lower. As a result, we often lose good talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please consider additional wages/benefits to retain talent for future management personnel. By doing this, future vision plans will be much easier to obtain with employees that are well seasoned and look forward to giving their best to a great company that compensates them appropriately for their hard work.

Great exposure to all different parts of car since ZF supplies basically all parts that go into a car, except an engine. Good learning opportunity about German engineering.

    Cons

Lots of work is designed to require approval from its German headquarter, which sometimes become a hurdle or slows down the work.

I have been working at ZF Group NAO full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Managers know what they're doing.
Training is quite good. Each business unit, while separate, communicates and works quite well together. The work itself might not be so thrilling, but the people are great to work with.
    Compensation is generally quite good.

    Cons

Not much room to negotiate with vacation days.
Bonuses are generally only tax-deffered 401k contributions. While nice, it's sometimes preferable to have cash in your pocket.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate the HR department. Not very responsive.
