    Pros

Love the job I do, always busy, good hours, ZF is coming!

    Cons

Low pay for busting you butt, health benefits stink, bosses have no experience, some team leaders are cruel, praying ZF comes to our rescue!

    Advice to Management

Listen to your workers. Loosing many good workers because of high demand on us with bad pay and unskilled leadership abilities.

    Pros

Claim to support work life balance, people are nice and respectful of one another. Pay is competitive. Have been acquired by other companies. Perhaps a new acquisition will streamline processes. Only 300 people. It's like "family".

    Cons

Outdated processes. It's 2014 and they still like to keep paper records. Are you sure it's not 1980? They use SAP but not to it's full capacity. Refuse to change. A majority of the people have been there for 10, 20+ years. They don't know of any other way. Where are the new people? I am guessing they don't stay. Every site functions differently. It's a large company and focuses like a small start up. Since there are only 300 people, you either fit in or you don't. Function off spreadsheets that have been passed from person to person. Spreadsheets are used to come up with financial numbers. Certain departments use these spreadsheets instead of using SAP. Very manual.

    Advice to Management

Streamline processes between locations, get everyone on the same computer system, stop using paper as your back up. The main computer storage is going to become full. Encourage change & employee development. Find out what areas need improvement and create databases to assist people with their job. Reduce manual processes and encourage value added work.

    Pros

Great direct manager who doesn't micromanage. Facility is reasonably nice work environment. Decent salary. Reasonable work load.

    Cons

Management's decisions are often short term without looking at the big picture. Management decisions are frequently made without input from the worker bees.

    Pros

TRW is a global company that offers a number of business units to work in. The work is challenging and you never stop learning.

    Cons

Working in a matrix structure often presents conflicting demands. Career development is lacking. Management is offered few perks over co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in developing management. Be more proactive in identifying under-resourced functional areas.

    Program Manager

I have been working at ZF TRW

    Pros

A great deal of hiring, so it is relatively easy to get hired. People working there are very nice and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Horrible workload, no career development, very few processes are documented, and very little training. Very high turnover of program managers tells the story of a grueling workload with no chance of success due to low cost Asian supply base.

    Advice to Management

Develop training and documentation for processes rather than avoid it. Change strategy of using low cost, low tech supply base for high tech parts.

Lots of finger pointing. Quality suffers while people point fingers.
Plant managers are weak especially in Mexico, Michigan

    Advice to Management

    Put quality first
