    Pros

Awesome people, go-getters, informal collegiate atmosphere, very friendly people, great place to work for data anlytic oriented folks who want to do a bit of management consulting as well

    Cons

ZS is a management consulting that has a strong data analytics focus. However, it needs to reconcile technology focus with data analytics focus. People with strong technical and software development background need to be handled in a different way than management consultants. Right now, there is lack of clarity and focus on these domains. This also results in lack of growth, lack of opportunities, and in some cases, diminished morale - especially for senior employees.

    Advice to Management

Management should think deeply about software product strategy, software development strategy, and where and how the software practice area fits into the organization - culturally, as well as organizationally.

    Pros

    + Fun, smart people
+ Exposure to pharma/biotech industry: you'll work with all of the top companies
+ Strong data analytics: you will become a wizard in Excel and analyzing secondary data
+ Decent post-MBA pay; good raises

    Cons

    - Work life balance is impossible: expect to work nights/weekends and cancel a lot of plans. Upper management does not push back on unreasonable client requests.
     - Limited exit options: even within pharma, ZS is mostly known for analytics. If you're seeking a marketing/strategy role, you'll fall short on a lot of experience employers are looking for. If you're looking for a role outside of healthcare, forget about it unless you're willing to take a step back to entry level roles.
     - Little strategic thinking. Very data focused but not much opportunity to work on business strategy.

    Advice to Management

Change your staffing model! Having people work on multiple projects at a time creates lots of peaks but no valleys in workload. Your best people leave because they get stretched too thin.

    Pros

Lots of training to foster personal and professional development
    Challenging and interesting work
    Collaborative and supportive environment
Flat hierarchy, work with very intelligent people
    Lots of client exposure

    Cons

Not much control over what projects you are staffed on
Work/life balance varies depending on project and team, making it hard to plan things for after work
Some work on weekends, but no more than any other consulting firm

    Advice to Management

Make sure associates are staffed based on their skill set. Cross office staffing more will allow people to work on projects they are more interested in.
