I worked at Zara full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I wish I had a pro to tell you.

    Cons

The discount is horrible. You get 15% off. You walk in and think its a tasteful store but really the go-backs are thrown everywhere on the floor, and you spend your day cleaning. They give you one uniform all year unless your pants rip or something it's ridiculous. The management is a joke, they think they have all this power and will use you until you just can't take it anymore. Do not accept any promotion they offer you because they will not give you a raise on the spot. I've been training for over 6 months and still no raise, they lie to you .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care or the people who have been there and know everything. They deserve to be treated better and with respect.

    I worked at Zara part-time

    Pros

    Uniform is provided. Fairly comfortable.

    Cons

Bad management (Managers are unprofessional and hiring and firing is constant.). No benefits for part-timers and 15% employee discount off already overpriced and low quality clothes. $9 an hour is ridiculous when the workload is heavy and constantly busy (especially during the holidays!) and regular customers that come to the store are also difficult to deal with (Miami customers, not sure about other locations). Management really has no respect for its employees and hours can be cut in half or more if they no longer want you around but do not want to fire you due to insurance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Employees are humans too.

    Pros

-Good experience for a 1st job.
    -Good pay.

    Cons

    -Cheap clothing is over priced.
-HORRIBLE management (always changing your schedule, not enough hours)
    -Irresponsible managers, miscommunications, hypocritical, favoritism)
-You don't get a raise unless they like you, they don't even care about hard work.
-The company doesn't care about employees.
-Customers are snobby thinking that we're servants to only please them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more organized and less hypocritical.

    Pros

    • Uniform provided
    • Okay Salary of $10 per hour.
    • Commission per department
    • Employee discount of 15%

    Cons

    • Although I worked as a Sales Associate for 9+ months, I never received a discount card & parts of the men's uniform.
    • Unprofessional and immature managers.
    • Uncomfortable and unfriendly working environment.
    • Performing responsibilities outside job position and without promotion.
    • Very unorganized management.
    • Schedule changes without being notified and confirmed.
    • Witnessed managers giving employees disciplinary actions to intimidate and not as a consequence action.

I have been working at Zara full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    One weekend off a month
    2 weeks vacation 2x a year
    decent pay for retail role
some people in corporate are hard working, and helpful

    Cons

constant changes in corporate leads to miscommunication
don't expect positive feedback or recognition- theres always constructive criticism though.
    expectations for management are high
a lot of clique with managers and the corporate team, so if you are not good with someone from corporate, you have to work much harder even if you perform better
they know how to push people out if needed (I have seen it done)
Human resources is not "open door/confidential" like it should be
discount for managers is a sad 15%- and you are expected to wear one in-season piece as part of your outfit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Human Resources needs to be open door with all employees and anything discussed with HR should be kept confidential. Corporate needs to be more upfront and appreciative of all employees at store level.

I worked at Zara part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-great learning expirience if youre starting on the retail merchandising road
    - great benefits if full-time
    -fashion trends affordable
    -paid holidays if full time

    Cons

    - work - life balance impossibility
-after a year, no discussion of a raise sometimes years passed and theres still none
-no hours for part time, making full time work on extreme situations and impossible to get things done due to high volume of customers
-family and personal emergencies are not considered as one so you will be fingered at
    -schedules

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

there's a lot of people unhappy at that location due to the cut of shifts and schedule changes, two class pets that get the best hours and lately being asked by the company to work harder is bogus when the store is packed every single day. The managers are very rude to the employees in front of customers and they are always stressed.
