I have been working at Zaxby's

    Pros

Willing to work with flexible schedules. They will give more hours to those that work harder. Good atmosphere to work in, always friendly and the people are really nice.

    Cons

Very hard to move up. Bonuses are only handed out once a year. Pay is based on how long you've been working for them. Managers can earn less than some shift leaders just because they haven't been there as long.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Restructure pay grade. Offer more incentives for people to stay.

    Pros

nice co workers and boss, flexible hours. The interview was really easy, and you get half off for food up to 10 dollars per day.

    Cons

There are hardly any breaks, and you have to stand for long periods of time. Some bosses are more demanding than others.

    I worked at Zaxby's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Good food.
    50% discount
    I made good friends there
    It's a pretty easy job
Mostly a laid back work environment
The customers tend to be nice and fun to talk to

    Cons

Okay seriously. One of my managers was 20 years old and highly irresponsible. She bullied the cashiers and cooks and would talk bad about us behind our backs. I discovered this one day when I walked behind her and heard her talking bad about me, and then found out from many other employees that she had been doing that since my VERY FIRST DAY. I brought this to my General Manager and he said she would be going through disciplinary actions, and then a few days later 2 of the other managers pulled me aside and reprimanded me, trying to make it seem as if she were just doing her job and I was overreacting. The managers were childish and would often make fun of the cashiers and cooks. Several of them cannot run the kitchen by themselves, and none of them can make a cohesive schedule. We end up with 1 cook opening until noon and one cashier until 1 PM, and I was often out at least an hour past the time I was supposed to leave. Many of the people working there are young and have their rides waiting for them. The management yelled at the employees for having their rides there when they were supposed to leave. There was never an opportunity for growth because the managers wouldn't allow anyone to complete their ZLCs, so nobody could be a team trainer, and we were short both a full time and part time team trainer. Often times cashiers would be reprimanded for being slow on drive through when the time was under 3 minutes and 20 seconds until the managers would come over and start backing us up, impeding progress of getting food out instead of being helpful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop blaming your cashiers and cooks.
Learn how to make a schedule.
Don't keep someone for 2 hours after their relief arrives.
    Let people finish their training.
Stop bullying your employees, we're people too.

    Pros

Depending on who your managers happen to be, you're either going to love working here, or not. It's a relatively easy job compared to other cashier and customer service jobs and is perfect if your college town happens to have one within walking distance.

    Cons

Good managers are few and far between.
