    Pros

Zebra takes good care of their employees and treats us with respect. Benefits are great!

    Cons

Since merging with Motorola Enterprise Solutions, their seems to be a distinct border between the companies, where there should not be.

    Pros

They were extremely open minded for new ideas and those who worked for Zebra, was rewarded for future. It was a smart company to work at.

    Cons

As with most large companies, money and profit margin got in the way. Leading to the eventual closure of the facility for more exposure in the Asian market.

    Pros

Very nice people for the most part. I liked the phase gate process-everyone knew roles and responsibilities. Good benefits and pay. Great engineering.

    Cons

can be long hours especially if you are working with the partners in Asia. Mixed priorities from upper management.

    Advice to Management

    Listen better to feedback

    Pros

Great people in the company in Holtsville and they support one another. The building is equipped with a gym. Makes it easy to get to stay in shape and can be used during the weekend.

    Cons

Mangers are remote (IL) and don't know team members or their efforts. Raises are very small. Manager are detached and seem to be completely un-aware of what the team does and their needs. The staff is small. Zebra like to outsource many jobs to Mexico, India, and China.

    Advice to Management

take the time to know your team. One on one conversations would help the team understand one another. Also, the benefits are not good and should be better. company profits are not share with the employees.

    Pros

Professional work environment, opportunity for growth, salary, benefits, excellent management, co-workers, nice facility in Lincolnshire, free gym access, and an easy commute.

    Cons

Badge access to the food court is unnecessary.

    Pros

Follows processes pretty well but is not too bureaucratic. Lots of smart people who want to work hard and do the right things.

    Cons

Some high level politics seemed to make people gun-shy and impede progress. I left before they bough Motorola so I don't know how that is affecting things.

    Advice to Management

    Keep at it.

    Pros

Safe sales job. Really good place to work with great people.

    Cons

Cultures clashing with legacy zebra hands off sales culture and MSI intense sales culture. Legacy zebra guys heads are spinning that they actually may have to talk to a customer. Nobody responds to communications. Takes five emails or calls to get anything response. Most still don't have revenue numbers in JUNE for their sales territory Too many overlays that don't do anything

    Advice to Management

Stop being so cheap with stuff and have comp plans that limit your OTE.

    Pros

very little. The C-level management seemed to be very interested in their products and employees. However, there was not a lot of interaction with them. They had promised to keep all jobs when they purchased Motorola Solutions' Symbol Mobile Enterprise division but they already laid-off entire product teams within 6 months.

    Cons

Mid-level management was incompetent and unwilling to adapt to change. The director of the PMO did not even know what an Agile Sprint was. The lower-level managers acted in fear. All projects were waterfall. They do not have the right talent pool to last another three years. The Senior VP was not qualified to hold his position but was very good friends with the divisional VP. there were lots of challenges the culture across the US, especially when dealing with the aggressive style in the NY office. Management was very wasteful with personal spending but review project-related spending on a weekly basis.

    Advice to Management

refresh the senior management in NY and refresh the talent pool. Enable employees. Be transparent.
