I have been working at Zeiders Enterprises full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, training and employees. The training provided is second to none. The pay is comparable to anywhere else. The benefits are also comparable.

    Cons

Case managers tend to have their own agendas. If they tend to not like the person in the position they are coaching, they tend to make up stories, or agree with stories about that person and use that as the foundation for firing the person they dislike.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more proactive when there is an issue. Your personal likes and dislikes are of no consequence when you are dealing with people. Please do not talk just to hear your own voice. Be more objective, listen to your employee, not just the client.

    Pros

Rewarding work serving military members and their families.

    Cons

Pay is lagging the industry. Same jobs available with non-profits for nearly double the salary.
Poor orgnaizational leadership-Right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing. Makes for frustrating and confusing workplace. Leading to it being extremely inefficient. Training for onboarding is lengthy in regards to the history of the organization and compliance issues but nonexistent for job specific duties.
    Lack of upward mobility.advancement
Annual pay increases are across the board regardless of performance and or lack there of.
Employer targets hiring military spouses yet will not negotiate and increase in pay for not using company health coverage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Train your employees
    Set up a recognition program
Create an upward mobility program that allows employees to adance within the organization
Understand that employees need a reason to stay with the organization if you aren't willing to pay them a competitive salary. Workplace structure and organization will help to keep morale up and make employees feel good about what they are doing.

    Pros

can have great co-workers both within department and in others depending on location/turnover- get to work with lots of different people (family members, service members, retirees, etc).
have the occasional opportunity to do stuff off site- outreach, etc. little to no daily stress. don't take any work home.

    Cons

high turn over of team members, low salary- difficult to create change- boys club of supervisors- poor accountability- many team members get away with not doing their job, lack of punctuality, skipping out when supervisor is gone, etc. little extrinsic motivation to go above and beyond when co-workers who do bare minimum or below that are treated the same. no real evaluation process of employees. mandatory 1 hour lunch break. constantly moving boxes/"working parties." have to do extra things like man the phones of admin on their lunch break or when they are busy or swamped yet little to no reciprocation when career service team needs assistance or coverage. little to no room for career growth- unable to move into management because of lack of opportunities for supervision/leadership.

i would only recommend this job to someone if they are going to use it as a stepping stone or resume filler while they work on other endeavors, attend school, live in san diego temporarily, etc. or for retirees. this is a job not a career and shouldn't be viewed as a profession that will provide career growth or profit. Zeiders knows that and that is why the salary & availability for growth won't change because so many military spouses are looking for work that they don't have to try hard to find candidates nor do much to to convince them to join their company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hold people accountable- it will improve dept. morale-provide the opportunity to participate in new projects more fairly- recognize people who are going above and beyond-set team goals and objectives- create more buy in with employees regarding work and goals. have more dept/team building events/opportunities for people who don't work at the same site to get together for a monthly lunch or something. more team building within the entire FFSC family - ppl don't know each others names or what other depts actually do- very fragmented

I have been working at Zeiders Enterprises full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Communication flow from leadership to supervisors to employees is excellent. Everyone is very available and responsive by e-mail, phone and chat. Even though employees are located all over the world, senior management makes a real effort to keep in touch and be available without driving us crazy with unnecessary ‘read this’ messages. Work serving military members, spouses and families is very rewarding.

    Cons

Not really a con, just the reality of this type of work. The work is mostly on government contracts so there are report requirements and efforts to keep the customer happy that just have to be done. Leadership works hard to take on the burden of these efforts so the employees can work with the actual people we are here to help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is excellent. Keep the focus on helping service members and their families.

    Pros

TELEWORK! TELEWORK! TELEWORK! And helping fellow military spouses.

    Cons

Management is terrible! No proper communication between call center teams. One Supervisor will tell you one thing and a different one another. If you have an issue with your Operation Supervisor, the Advisor and Counselor Services Leads do nothing and expect you to basically deal with it. Take it to HR and they tell ou to go back and just work it out. There are no defined policies in place. They cherry-pick who does what. Discrimination could be at play if you dont have defined policies for everyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually take action when employees are expressing concern. Stop passing the buck!
