I have been working at Zeta Interactive full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Zeta is a great company to work for and it is growing very rapidly! The growth creates many career opportunities and I've seen many people moving to a different position, team or being promoted from within. It's empowering and encouraging to see how the company had transformed within the last year and still preserved its entrepreneurial start-up culture.

Everyone at Zeta is very friendly and the environment is laid back. Senior management is hands on, supportive and they are never afraid of getting their hands dirty.

    Cons

Communication across different offices can be better, and it already has. It's actually a good problem to have as it just speaks to the challenges of working at a fast growing/expanding company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue being transparent about the company; it makes people from all levels/offices valued and involved.

I have been working at Zeta Interactive full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked at Zeta for over 4 years and have seen it evolve through changing market conditions, successful acquisitions, more than one strategic pivot, and management changes. What encourages me more than anything is the ability that Zeta's leadership team has to be resilient, Flexible, and to pursue opportunities that make sense for the business. You will not find a more entrepreneurial company that also understands how to build a culture that is motivated to drive consistent results.

Zeta allows high performing employees to excel, to grow in a way that I have not experienced any where else in my 15 Year + career. What Zeta understands is how to empower leaders whether they are in a position to run a P&L or whether you are on the front line delivering for clients. Make no mistake. Zeta is a culture that rewards high performing individuals - those who aren't able to meet expectations tend to move on. If you work smart, stay focused and err on the side of execution - you will find an incredible home at Zeta as I have done.

    Cons

As the company continues to grow and evolve across multiple continents, communication will remain to be a key opportunity and challenge. There are 100s of talented people in the organization and it is important that smart ideas are heard and implemented.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay flexible, stay resilient, stay entrepreneurial, communicate often.

Commitment to preserving an entrepreneurial spirit at a rapidly growing company

    Pros

At rapid growth companies commitment to an entrepreneurial spirit can often cease to exist. Not the case at Zeta.
    CEO:
This commitment to entrepreneurship comes from the top of the organization, the CEO is a serial entrepreneur who loves nothing more than seeing his leaders thrive and build their own organizations, enhance their product lines and "own" every aspect of their business.
    Organizational Design:
The organization is elegantly designed so that all discipline leads and their employees have real skin in the game related to their own product lines and the companies overall success. The leadership and general employee populations is comprised of well pedigreed, bright individuals committed to rolling up their sleeves and getting it done.
    Benefits:
The company has a fantastic suite of medical and ancillary benefits. And as long as manager approves there is flexibility with work schedule as needed..
    Talent:
Company has committed to bringing in top talent globally. Recently brought all recruiting in house with Ad Tech veteran.
    Communication:
Leadership is constantly communicating with employee population to keep them apprised of the latest news going on with the company, through regularly scheduled town hall meetings and email news blasts. You're never not "in the know" as an employee weather located in headquarters or located in branch office.

    Cons

    Communication:
With any global organization communication can always be improved- Zeta is no different, would behoove some of the disciplines disparately located to connect more frequently.
    Learning & Development:
Commitment to training can always be enhanced- Zeta is no different. Leadership program for hi potentials exist as do strong training programs in India. Should begin to see more of these programs for the balance of population.

I have been working at Zeta Interactive

    Pros

With over 10 years of experience in the digital marketing industry and experience working in high level positions for multiple companies over those 10+ years, I would say that Zeta is filled with some brightest and most knowledgeable people in the business.

Zeta provides a healthy work environment. They are flexible in relation to their employees needs/wants as long as you do you job effectively and efficiently. The management team leads by example and expects the most of their employees. As the company grows, they continue to bring in top notch talent and are always looking for the best. Its not a company that will settle for mediocrity. I believe this is a big reason for the success and growth over the past few years.

If you are hungry and take work seriously, Zeta is the place for you.

    Cons

Expected to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if needed

    Keep up the good work

I have been working at Zeta Interactive full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Teams are very close-knit, but everyone works across shared groups very well to the benefit of the business (design, tech, product, etc). You are well incentivized to perform at the top of your game and generate revenue, and Zeta offers among the best compensation in the industry, even if they don't publicized it (agencies don't even compare). You have the opportunity to prove your value very early on b/c you will be given a ton of responsibility. If you're a rockstar, you can advance here very rapidly. A low tolerance for slackers keeps everyone feeling valuable. Management is very skilled, yet receptive to new ideas at all levels. Above all, the company values innovation and things are constantly evolving, so you're not doing the same thing every day. Catered lunches once a week...

    Cons

If you're in a revenue generating role, expect to be very well compensated but have long, stressful days and emails flying around the clock. If you're in an internal support role, you will be pushed hard to get a million things done for sales/product/marketing teams, but urgency is part of the culture. Some group managers are so focused on the team P&L that professional development can sometimes take a back seat. The company is quick to fire mediocre workers, so if you're slow to catch on, you won't last.

I worked at Zeta Interactive full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There were no "work related" pros. The only pros I can think of was that they provided free lunch on Fridays.

    Cons

It won't take you long to see that this company is severely lacking any kind of structure or management. They hire new employees that are also new to the industry which doesn't improve their current situation. There is no formal training whatsoever because no one (including the managers) seems to know what they are doing.

The office morale was very low since everyone was unhappy with management and the work environment. Overall it was just a very negative experience that did not provide professional growth.

    Pros

Some good workers with knowledge of the business

    Cons

Upper management is terrible this is felt from many different levels, almost feels like your working for a dictatorship. A lot of people in their day to day are told to do things not knowing why but because they are told so from someone in management getting no visibility in the companies direction.

No training or company integration. Zeta brought many companies and employees together from all different directions but expected everything to run smoothly overnight, this is not how companies are formed.

I agreed with another employees review saying if upper management doesn't like you to find a new job, because this place is just a big High School with gossiping, politics and undermining of other employees.

A lot of upper management that don't do much besides boss people around and only have power because of company politics/butt-kissing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get real leaders that want to improve the company and employees personally and professionally.

I worked at Zeta Interactive as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

XL Marketing has an extremely relaxed work environment. I got to wear jeans and a T-shirt and if you dress up, you look out of place. Everyone was extremely nice and approachable. Very young environment and culture.

    Cons

My internship had absolutely no structure. I got in, and basically did what I wanted on a day to day basis. I had some projects here and there but overall didn't do much work/ didn't learn much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a more structured internship program that actually teaches the perspective employee's more of what career in marketing is about and what they will be looking forward to in future if thats the career path they choose.

    Pros

The office was midtown - and on the east side

    Cons

Management needs to learn speak to people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Awful experience - this company is the reason I went back to school. I went back for social work - I couldn't believe they treated people in this manner.

I have been working at Zeta Interactive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The company is scrappy and is able to shift to meet the client need. Very strong people on the execution side of the business that are looking to exceed expectations for customers. Execution team based in India is very detail oriented and one of the stronger selling points of the organization.

    Cons

Solutions for clients tend to be custom development work as core technology is flexible to meet specific needs. This is a pro and a con as it makes it more difficult to maintain consistency with upgrades.

The working conditions in the NYC office were rough. Very little space for employees and restroom areas were consistently closed for repair forcing employees to travel to different floors and at times different company offices to utilize the facilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a larger investment into internal infrastructure and you'll acquire stronger talent.
