  1.

    Fantastic experience, super company!

I worked at Zeta Interactive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Zeta acquired our division. Personally, this was my 3rd time being acquired and far and away the best experience. The Zeta team was transparent, engaged, and trustworthy --- they did what they said they would do and built instant credibility with the team.

Zeta focuses on developing relationships. This was critical as our office is on the west coast. Still, management made us feel included, valued members of the team, and an important part of the larger organization.

Operationally speaking, Zeta is a very well run company. They put up aggressive numbers and constantly hit them. I think it has a lot to do with understanding the business (it's a daily business) and the discipline and rigor it takes day in and day out to build a business. Management cares about and takes action on the underlying numbers/metrics and uses them to make strategic and operational decisions.

    Cons

    I don't have any cons.

    Pros

The atmosphere is generally laid back, although there was always the occasional fire that truly was a fire, in the sense that people are uptight and asking you every five minutes if that two hour process has completed, yet.

    Cons

The Boulder office, hypocritical management policies, schedules, & expectations.

    Pros

Some good workers with knowledge of the business

    Cons

Upper management is terrible this is felt from many different levels, almost feels like your working for a dictatorship. A lot of people in their day to day are told to do things not knowing why but because they are told so from someone in management getting no visibility in the companies direction.

No training or company integration. Zeta brought many companies and employees together from all different directions but expected everything to run smoothly overnight, this is not how companies are formed.

I agreed with another employees review saying if upper management doesn't like you to find a new job, because this place is just a big High School with gossiping, politics and undermining of other employees.

A lot of upper management that don't do much besides boss people around and only have power because of company politics/butt-kissing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get real leaders that want to improve the company and employees personally and professionally.

    Pros

Growing business with big revenues in an industry (performance marketing) that is otherwise under pressure.
    Good people in different pockets
    Compensation can be good

    Cons

Business claims to be "big data CRM" but mainly relies on dodgy mass email marketing and affiliate marketing for its revenues.
Senior management are just plain not nice.
People get fired / leave at all levels and there are no announcements. They just disappear.
Bizarre culture of many acquired employees who are second class citizens to the old line NY team
IF the COO doesnt like you or ignores you then you are done. start looking for a new job because you will be one of those people that disappear soon. Everyone essentially reports directly to him

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Careful about the people you step on your way up because you will see them again on your way down
If there are bridges you havent burned yet --- dont
Way too passive aggressive at senior management

    Pros

You get to leave at the end of the day.

    Cons

Management's lack of respect for employees. Health benefits getting worse and worse by the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are some good people at the company, try and respect them regardless of whether they are "senior management" and/or "butt kisser"s.

    Pros

The company is scrappy and is able to shift to meet the client need. Very strong people on the execution side of the business that are looking to exceed expectations for customers. Execution team based in India is very detail oriented and one of the stronger selling points of the organization.

    Cons

Solutions for clients tend to be custom development work as core technology is flexible to meet specific needs. This is a pro and a con as it makes it more difficult to maintain consistency with upgrades.

The working conditions in the NYC office were rough. Very little space for employees and restroom areas were consistently closed for repair forcing employees to travel to different floors and at times different company offices to utilize the facilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a larger investment into internal infrastructure and you'll acquire stronger talent.

    Pros

Great people, very dedicated and team culture.

    Cons

A few people out to prove they are big shots and do not know the product. Upper management listening to advice from people who do not know the industry and making decisions based on the advice.
