Prostop 3 university in China and pretty famous. also good quality of education and good opportunity to work with cutting-edge scientists.

Conswork might be too challenging sometime and also it is a big university which has a lot of staff, so you might have to run among different campus to get things done.

One of the best university in China

Graduate Research Assistant (Former Employee) Hangzhou, Zhejiang (China)

ProsLots of equipment available; Lots of good advisers and co-workers; PhD student there are usually hard working and collaborative.

ConsThe cons should be applicable to most of the Chinese universities. Some of the professors don't provide students any research suggestions. So be a little careful when you want to choose the advisers. The payroll is still not that much for PhD students and lectures, but it's improving.

Interesting location; a fair amount of mingling between Chinese and westerners in Hangzhou

Foreign Expert (I E Guest Teacher In University) (Former Employee) Hangzhou, Zhejiang (China)

ProsOne of China's top universities (because of amalgamations in recent years making it one of the biggest).
More laid-back than Beijing, with much pretty countryside nearby.
Friendly students (as elsewhere in China)
    A lively ex-pat community
Freedom to devise lessons as you wish
A good Christian community (Hangzhou International Christian Fellowship)

ConsThe usual Chinese Communist Party bureaucracy
Too much traffic in Hangzhou these days, but the West Lake is still very pretty, as are the tea-villages on the other side of it.

Advice to Senior ManagementInsist on Western-style freedoms as far as possible
