    Cons

Immaturity at the Associate Director level, it is all about the KPI

I have been working at Zimmer full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Good salary
Nice people who try to do the right thing
Good products that are rewarding to work on
Great if you like to coast in an easy job.

    Cons

Poor benefits, stingy vacation policy, use high deductible health plan to pass costs on to employees. Forced ranking every year and then lay off the bottom 5%. Little investment in training people. Top management has "slave mentality", they don't care whether you like your assignments and are inflexible about alternative work schedules. Tend to keep people a level lower than what they are arable of, promotions take forever. Stingy severance packages.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees by providing quality training opportunities and more interesting assignments, and more challenging assignments. Too much focus on bottom line for investors and stockholders, makes employees feel like the last priority. Productivity will continue to suffer with low morale. Stop asking us to give to the PAC when you don't appreciate what we do.

I worked at Zimmer full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Large company experience.

    Cons

Very depressing place to work. Continuous cuts and no respect for employees. No mentoring and it was difficult to get approval for training/education. Most HR paperwork including Gallup meant to check a box for management. Full of careerists at the director level that are mentally gone but stay for the LTI program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees are not trapped in Warsaw. Leadership seems to believe that innovation is cost cutting rather than diversification to avoid commoditization sweeping the industry.

    I worked at Zimmer

    Pros

    Benefits
    Bonus
Defined system for medical devices already in place.

    Cons

There seemed to be no vision for the Biologics side. There wasn't a clear pipeline and large turnover, both voluntarily and involuntarily. Management are not effective leaders.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff better and provide information on the pipeline and path moving forward. Develop careers instead of just the bottom line.

I have been working at Zimmer as an intern

    Pros

Opportunities for movement and growth within the company. Received many chances to learn new aspects and had the chance to work in multiple areas and departments to gain more overall experience.

    Cons

Extremely challenging environment due to the larger turnover within the company. Limited resources to complete projects make aspects of working there stressful.

I worked at Zimmer as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    the pay is decent
you get to know about the corporate world which school would never teach you

    Cons

infrastructure is bad. people are under constant stress.
the company follows a bad hiring policy. they hire a lot of contingent workforce. so the contract employees always feel insecure about their job and can't give their 100% on what they do
many full time employees have left their job due to the management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

respect your employees. contractors are not your slaves.

I have been working at Zimmer full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

New training facility, technology as strongest implant (tantalum). Parent company is a strong brand in the orthopedic world but they do not invest in this division. It's hard to come up with positives. This division is troubled.

    Cons

Worst place I have ever worked in my career. Management team is constantly restructuring and has no decision making abilities to back fill vacancies. Poor treatment of employees. I am soon to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have a serious morale problem. Hire an Management consultant and work on changing the culture to match your "Do The Right Thing" mission statement. Culture effects every area of the business.

I have been working at Zimmer full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    -GREAT products
    -Respected in the industry

    Cons

-the morale of the sales force is horrible
-Reps are stretched way too thin, with an enormous bag of products (and little support or resources)
-the distributor model is no longer effective, new reps are not given fair opportunities to grow or make money
-transparency is poor (half the time customers know more about what's going on with Zimmer before you do)
-I don't even know what Zimmer's mission is and I've worked for the company for 5 years.....I guess patient care and the purpose of our products don't matter to shareholders??

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward sales reps, we thrive off of competitive compensation for hard work.
Stop treating reps like we're invisible, when in fact WE are at the front line.
National Sales Meeting even sucks...it's 1 time a year, stop cutting corners.
