    Pros

Knowledge sharing, challenging faced paced, great people. Overall Zions is a great place to work and they care about their people. There are a lot of areas to learn and many opportunities to grow. I would recommend Zions to any motivated individual.

    Cons

Regulations, regulations, regulations, goverment oversite can be a pain. Being in the banking industry there are continous audits and oversite that has to be followed.

I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Big company, more than 11,000 employees in 10 states (mostly in Utah, but a fairly big presence in California, Nevada, and Texas). Numerous opportunities to move around and gain new skills. A college degree is helpful in getting into higher paying positions, but I also know many managers who do not have degrees.

    Cons

As with any large company, politics and protection of territory sometimes gets in the way of getting things done.

    Advice to Management

Refocus on what matters most. Make it OK to discuss issues openly, rather than being concerned about the team getting a black eye if someone knows that something went wrong. Stop hiring managers who have no experience in the type of work they will be managing, particularly in back-office operations and IT. Where necessary, even in high-level upper management, make tough changes.
