    Pros

The people are great and the work environment is rather laid back

If you work on the right product line and do good work, you'll get promoted quickly.

Considered good entry level experience in an important space in pharma (but leave once you get the opportunity)

    Cons

Mark Zitter is focused on one thing - SELLING the company. This has been apparent for a few years with goals such as "sell $30million by 2015" rather than a goal focused on quality, culture, etc.

High turnover and quality staff leaving - this is syndicated research (i.e. do it once and replicate it over and over) so the work gets boring fast. Anyone seeking more stimulation leaves for more challenging work.

East Coast office space - If you want to live in NYC and commute, it's quite a trip.

Managers focused on color schemes, font size, and the shape of asterisks rather than the quality of content. Report writing is about 20% implications and recommendations and 80% formatting. Decks are entirely too long and clients rarely go through the full report.

The loudest senior leaders are awful managers, have little to no in-house pharma experience, and often use archaic anecdotes in their presentations (i.e. "the rule of 3" in contracting). They often disregard those with analytical capability and propose to "fudge" data.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out a way to retain quality people and work on raising the quality of work rather than sales

    Pros

Professional environment. Very smooth and warm welcome with onboarding. Management (HR) seems especially interested in my overall satisfaction and offer the tools for my success.

    Cons

Lots of new hires due to growth. Some older staff seem resistant to change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to staff, especially new staff. Our experience is relevant and fresh, less resistant than growth and change than others.

    Pros

Great atmosphere, potential for work life balance, approachable and friendly managers. We had the easiest move from one office location to another. Every detail was paid attention to. Love our new facility and appreciate the positive environment created by the staff. Special kudos to our HR Director. I know if I have a concern I can bring it to HR.

    Cons

A select few will whine no matter what. Thankfully they are just a small minority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work. How about more training opportunities for all?

    Pros

Great chance to get a reputable firm on your resume and develop some business acumen. Work life balance is quite good and you can jam music to get through the day. There is a lot of transparency within the firm.

    Cons

While you have work/life balance, you sacrifice pay and opportunities for advancement. Certain employees care more about the font of an asterisk than the content of the reports.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Losing a lot of top talent due to burning out - change your accountability within the teams.

    Pros

Salary on par with competitors, fringe benefits (coffee/tea, fruits, lunches (less than what it nurses to be though), birthday celebrations), really nice work atmosphere for colleagues to bond with, especially for young people. Nice office.

    Cons

Promotions and hirings are inconsistent with experience: same degrees and hired as senior analysts/analysts or manager with doctoral degrees. Some are hired with no experience and put in some levels as those with experience. Some are hired for entry-level positions even though they have years of experience. Only product line staff will be promoted (little to no supports staff promotion - some have been here for over 3 years and have no promotions while some have been here a few months). HR is very inexperienced and unreceptive to suggestions (on boarding is horrible - good luck getting your retirement plan started).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire properly for positions. HR director doesn't have the experience to be HR and staff feels this. Things were changed without notice (summer Fridays, referral bonuses, snacks, etc.). Requests for more ergonomic furniture should no be denied, but should be openly offered. Move people up properly. Keep fringe benefits (these small things make happier employees which increases productivity).
