Zodiac Pool Care Reviews
Pros – great people, friendly atmosphere, good work-life balance
Cons – work is dull and boring
Pros – Lots of change makes for expansive learning experiences, good pay and bonuses, co-workers help one another - cooperative team based environment and the lower levels. Lots of good people who want to do a good job.
Cons – The company has excessive debt levels that drive periodic and continued layoffs. The company is not afraid to let any one go and not afraid of being sued for bad treatment of employees. Some practices are quite strange. They will be sold soon, so it won't be stable in the coming year or two. You must buy into their HR value system even if you think it is cheesy, which most employees do. You must pretend. Just being smart, quiet and hard working is not enough.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus more on hard work, ability to get the job done, completion of MBOs than politics and who was from Black and Decker and who is not. You are running a business, not a fraternity.

Pros – The company is poised for a long awaited uptick with the recent economic improvements in the new construction and home improvement sectors. A lot of work has been done to support this opportunity. The company is also in the early stages of defining a new culture.
Cons – Despite the work that has been done, there is still a ways to go.
Advice to Senior Management – Find the right people, and try to deliver a clear strategic mission to all levels of personnel.

“Good place to work if you are hard working and know what you are doing. They are not afraid to let people go.”
Pros – Work hard and there is always opportunities for advancement.
Management makes good decisions with what they have to work with.
I will be a good company if the economy turns around.
Cons – Too much private equity funding in a downward economic environment leads management to make cash flow decisions that are not wise from and EBITDA perspective.
Pay is reasonable and compensates for overall risk.
Advice to Senior Management – Hang in there, it will probably get better next year.

Pros – Benefits are good and are given within 30 days of hire. Employer began to match 401K again. Depending on who your manager is, there is some flexibility with your work schedule.
Cons – Salary is on the very low range for some individuals who were hired about two years ago. New hires are hired at a higher rate but with less experience, yet there are no adjustment made to the salaries of those who were hired before.
Most managers/supervisors do not possess the skills to manage personnel, therefore are not very effective. Some manage/supervise through intimidation and do not mentor or train their subordinates...what makes matters worse is the upper management does not correct this at all.
Advice to Senior Management – Have managers and supervisors attend leadership workshops, and if they do not improve then don't be afraid to remove them from that position. Make opportunities available to coach and train employees; mentor them so that they improve. Also, give back a little to the employees, not the managers, the little people, something to boost morale. Employee morale is at an all time low.
