    Pros

Very talented people committed to serving customers and vets and partner with their suppliers for a long term relationship.

    Cons

Once the company comes to a level of stability after the spin off from Pfizer, the major issues with its systems may go away and the colleagues will then find time to focus 100% on being customer centric.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A global company such as Zoetis definitely has many interconnected systems and complicated processes that require the attention of management, but without the latter understanding the facts and data, big decisions could lead to wrong and undesired outcomes. I recommend that understanding of the overall business will lead to better top down approach of customer satisfaction.

    Pros

Good Co-workers and normal Hours until Thanksgiving time...

    Cons

Management leaves a LOT to be desired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No Certainty for Company or Position Longevity

    I worked at Zoetis

    Pros

The people you work with and interact with regularly are typically great. People really do work towards the same goal. Benefits are decent and pay is okay (livable but less than other companies).

    Cons

There is a huge focus to cut budgets left and right. Management does not appear to know what direction it wants to take and therefore it is always possible that people will be laid off. Managers are often hand off until they can't be and then there is too much micro-management. Life expectancy for Zoetis does not seem long. There is a full expectation that the company will be bought in the next few years or parts will be divested to streamline efforts and budgets. Focus is on money and not colleague engagement. Advancement and movement with in the company is difficult. Merit increases and bonuses are a joke. Must colleagues will not see anything higher than 2.5% increase for meeting expectations. You have to fit everyone into that bell curve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your people and stop cutting budgets. Let people do their job and reward them for it.

I worked at Zoetis as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The culture there is great because you're interacting with engineers, scientists, marketing folks, and the executives are just around the corner. People are efficient and get work done. You can see the company really growing.

    Cons

For an intern, a downside is that everyone is really busy. This makes it difficult to obtain more responsibility or advice because the mentors don't necessarily have time to give instruction. This is definitely a better position for real self-starters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only thing I can suggest is more coaching for the youngsters. You're doing great by teaching us how to work hard by example though.

A temp job there is likely to be a waste of six months.

I worked at Zoetis as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

If you're made permanent, it's ~15.50/h and three weeks vacation.

    Cons

Employs are very expendable. In the six months I worked at that location 5 people were fired (that I know of) and nobody ever seems to know why. One had been there 19 years and the rest were all semi-new temp hires. The place is flooded with temporary workers now and it all comes down to exposure, the people who have more visible jobs to management will be kept. A cost-cutting attitude is everywhere, departments are vary lean and busy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're all desperate to make your mark on the newly defined company, I'd be more concerned about what kind of mark you're making. Zoetis as a company is more than fine, there is no reason to treat your employees this way. Give to them and they'll stop jumping ship to other pharma companies.

    Pros

Great atmosphere. Excellent pay and benefits. Colleagues are very friendly and helpful. Work schedule is not too demanding. Management is easy to approach.

    Cons

Communication can sometimes be an issue. There have been times where different shifts do not communicate well with one another.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Zoetis part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, especially peers that are at the same management level.

    Cons

    Leadership, workload, compensation, and culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a reality check and learn why your attrition rate is so high. It's not because people don't get along. Hard work is not rewarded with advancement, compensation is far too low for the cost reality of living in NJ, and the workload can be overwhelming. There is no reason a person should work 10+ hours on a weekend to just keep up.

    Pros

Leadership (other than HR) is impressive and focused on doing what is best for the business and colleagues. The company is poised to deliver great results in the near future. Steady growth is indicated and, in general, colleagues are very supportive of each other.

    Cons

There are still some growing pains in the near future. Company is newly public (1.5 years) and is not fully stand alone. HR is going through major transition. Almost 100% turnover in HR leadership team. Only a couple remain from when company went public. Lower levels of the HR organization lack confidence in HR leadership. Given the numerous restructuring in HR within the last year, they don't know if they will have a job from one day to the next.
