    Pros

Most of the people at Zumba are very nice and are hard workers. I loved seeing how Zumba was literally transforming peoples lives and the CEO was an integral part of that Corporate wide philosophy.

    Cons

The employees at Zumba were mostly in their 20's to early 30's and were very green when it comes to professionalism. I would be on conference calls with co-workers and they seemed to spout whatever they wanted from their mouth - it was embarrassing. This also played out in emails and an overall lack of professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Hire a lot more seasoned employees, with more experience and professionalism.

I worked at Zumba Fitness full-time

    Pros

They close for a multitude of holdays and close early.

    Cons

Where to start........................At one point I was so hopeful and really enjoyed going to work and then I realized that as "nice" as they are it's all fake and they don't care all they take and take. The managers in customer care have no idea what they are doing. They have no policies what so ever. They DO NOT promote from within despite being told that they do. No job security at all in the time I have been with them they have announced 4 layoffs!!! The most recent one is the big customer care announcement! At some point they are moving the department to Bulgaria and only keeping a select few people in the US office. So do you have a job??? You don't know because they aren't going to tell you until it's convenient for them. Do they not realize that people have families, bills and financial responsibilities??? It's bad enough they pay terribly and make employees pay higher out of pockets costs and now you don't even know if your going to have a job or benefits in the new year. Oh and to add even more salt to the wound they haven't even told people about packages other than a comment that you have to be in good standing otherwise no package.

    Advice to Management

Start paying attention to what's going on in your own company. If you took the time to send out anonymous surveys maybe you wouldn't need to lay so many people off and or move your customer care to Bulgaria. Your customer care managers and people and culture department are nothing but lawsuits waiting to happen. I hope for your sake that you will start listening before it's too late.

I have been working at Zumba Fitness full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company has focus on making the morale of the staff happy. Conventions, trips, and flexible schedules. They have a young and youthful atmosphere that makes it easy to work there. Has the feel of a tech startup with the amount of people of a medium-sized company. I've learned a lot of useful skills that can transfer to other future opportunities through a growing and expanding company.

    Cons

Management issues all over; many revolving doors. A lot of management positions turn over in a very short period of time. There aren't many opportunities to move up, because there is already a set-base of individuals that control the flow. Unless you come in from the outside into a leadership position... you aren't going to advance very far.

    Advice to Management

Hire the right people that can stick around longer than a year. When going through several different C-Level position in multiple departments over a short period of time. It isn't encouraging to the staff that has to work under new leadership every few months with a different vision.
