    Pros

I enjoyed having the responsibility of owning my results and build a team to succeed and learn in this culture.

    Cons

Stressful at times, but so is everything else. Better compensation would've been nicer.

  2. Way too much drama.

    Pros

The only pro for zumiez is the events you could possibly work and getting to meet with vendors and pros.

    Cons

Most store managers are crooks and will do anything to shift the blame onto the people under them.

    Advice to Management

reevaluate who you put in charge of your stores. you are only cheating yourselves.

    Pros

Laid back environment, You can casually greet customers and your co-workers are pretty much family. Nice discount

    Cons

Before taxes and spring season its very slow and no one barely gets hours. Only managers.

    Advice to Management

Upper management that actually give the store hours need to fix their problem. Its a little hard to grow in the company because every zumiez store is fully staffed with managers. You have to wait until someone leaves.

    Pros

    -great people.
-great place to get sales experience
    -great discount
    -commission earned for certain sales.

    Cons

    -low hours
-tons of call an hour before your shift to see if needed shift.
    -low pay
    -hours based on sales performance.

    Advice to Management

Would of had a better experience if I actually got to learn how to do everything such as putting together a skateboard with almost working there for about a year. Also wish moving up in the company wasn't based on favorites being played or so it seemed like.

    Pros

Promotions based on results. Sales driven, competitive company. If you're committed, aggressive, and use their training tools and programs effectively, moving up is easy and fast!

    Cons

Incredibly low pay for how often and hard we work. I understand that there are "extras" involved, but you cannot raise a family on a Zumiez salary.

    Advice to Management

Consider less incentives and parties for a higher base wage for salaried employees. This would create more retention in upper management.

    Pros

Everyone at my store was so friendly and very welcoming. Very laid back and relaxed, but still always got the job done well.

    Cons

The managers expect you to make a sale to every person who walks in the store. Some people don't always want to buy something and are just browsing, but managers need you to sell to met daily and weekly goals.

    Advice to Management

Not everyone wants to buy something every time they walk in the store. You can use GPS every time and still not always make a sale.

    Pros

    Fun environment and good peers

    Cons

Bad pay, stressful work load, you aren't off even when you are off. If you aren't the in crowd you're the out crowd.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting like the company world is the employees oyster to every single employee when you know that they aren't cut out for the position they want just so you can get them to pull more work.
