    I worked at Zycus full-time

    Pros

As a software engineer, I was exposed to many new technologies and frameworks. Zycus will always encourage you to learn and implement your own ideas. Since it is a small company, you have a lot of responsibilities but at the same time you get to learn a lot which for a fresher is an ideal scenario. Always recognized for your work and the increments are pretty decent. Work life is brilliant. Scheduling is good. Come and go whenever you please. Very casual work environment.

    Cons

Not many leaders or mentors . My managers were always busy and I had no team leads. As a fresher you need someone to tell you the best practices and mould you. Lack of organization. Anyone comes and tells you to make scripts or to fix bugs in certain applications. At times I had started certain new projects and had to stop it for a couple of months, start a new one and go back to the old one.

    Advice to Management

Have some more leaders for freshers maybe a team lead atleast. Fix/ freeze requirements and add a little more structure to the team.

I worked at Zycus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great product; extensive support teams in India

    Cons

To say there are "cultural challenges" is an understatement. The challenges are for the employees and customers alike. There were, of course, issues with understanding accents, but those issues were nothing compared to the overall cultural challenges. And, I do not simply mean that it was challenging working for an Indian company. The culture I'm referring to was one of a "small time company". This is a company that is run by the CEO who dictates every facet of the organization. The CEO is the creator and founder of these stellar products. However, this company almost seems to be a hobby for him. There is an inability top-down to empower the employees. As such, substantial growth will be impossible.

    Advice to Management

Move the operations to the States. Seriously.

I worked at Zycus full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good product, doing a decent job at competing with the bigger ERP competitors in their space. Slowly gaining a reputation of being a real player in the Procurement space. Competitive salaries for the sales professionals.

    Cons

Cultural problem exists due to the HQ being in Mumbai India. Poor internal communication. Lack of presales engineers for US sales effort. They had one person flying around all over the U.S to support 8 sales reps. Also, there is a considerable language barrier. Customers and prospects could not understand the personnel in India on conference calls. Upper management in India completely clueless about US business tactics and needs. Marketing effort lacked consistency.

    Advice to Management

Hire more support for US sales effort. Move Lead Gen (those who get appointments) to the US. Cold calling from India into the US for appointments will not work.

    USA 0 - India 100

    Pros

Great product with loads of potential. Lots of good people who want to make a difference. Recent wins with Dell, ATK, Jawbone, and TI.

    Cons

This company burns thru people like a Hummer burns through gasoline. You get drawn in by the product but quickly learning that culture kills the opportunity for long term success. the worst sales environment I have ever seen. No clue on what it takes to sell software in the US. Run by the India Cartel who spends too much time on travel reports and meaningless KPI's. This is a culture that is its own worst enemy and the executives in the US are powerless to change anything. Step it line boys, Aatish is your master and it's only a matter of time before you are replaced. Maybe you can fire a sales rep to cover your back for a month or two but soon you will have to open wide and say Aaaaaatish.

    Advice to Management

US management, do what you came to do and foster change. Grow a pair!

I have been working at Zycus (More than 3 years)

    Pros

New management creating energy and momentum that will lead to success. Great products, decent support, good client list

    Cons

Dialect - it's the 800lb Gorilla that no one wants to address. Still too many Indian ways. Multi leg flights, cheap hotels, small meal allowances, poor tools, which all lead to inefficient processes and rushed efforts.

    Advice to Management

Move operations to USA with engineering and support staying in India. Give more control to each region to use local marketing to help promote within the countries they are in. Buy the tools necessary so that all teams can utilize and standardize.

    Pros

Great place to start your career Challenges from the word go. Even simple tasks are made challenging, so one cannot complain about not finding any challenging work. Setting right expectations is the key to success. Manage your Boss. He will manage the rest.

    Cons

Beware of Lip service, shady politics. Every HOD is bent on pulling the other HOD's pant down. Leave your real Intelligence back home, as Zycus has its own invented Artificial Intelligence which works for all products and process that run in Zycus. Scout for another job in hand before confronting your seniors. In short- No Different from any other Indian Company, so chill.

    Advice to Management

Wake up from the artificially intelligent world created for you. There is real Intelligence beyond it.
