Current Employee – been working at adap.tv full-time
Pros – Great environment to work and contribute. Still lots of potential. Transparency in the business.
Cons – Turnover is high because wages are still below par. They let great people walk out. Becoming bigger company and new dead weight management. Not impressed with new hires.
Advice to Senior Management – Lots of energy wasted on wrong projects. New people are not great. Time for some more changes?
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at adap.tv full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – -Free Lunches Daily to save money
-Smart People who are not in Sr Mgmt
Cons – -Mgmt- Other than maybe 3 people there no-one has any authority to make a business decision without running it by 5+ people
-Free Lunches Daily- Instead of having lunch offer Dinner to those who stay later that way people can get out for an hour and re-energize Sitting at your desk there for 10+ hours is not a way to live
-Process & Policy- There are none really other than dont get your boss mad
Advice to Senior Management – Clean house with Sr Mgmt and promote from within. While there for almost 4 years there was hardly any promotion from within for a REAL Promotion. While titles changed if you wanted any decision making you had to be hired outside to have i

Pros – On the cutting edge of online digital video advertising. Both in technology and marketing for online video advertising, very innovative and competitive.
Cons – If your interests are not aligned with the companies directions, you'll probably be dissatisfied quickly.

Current Employee – been working at adap.tv full-time for less than a year
Pros – A couple of years old but still functioning exactly like a startup. Business is booming, company is scaling up to keep pace with industry growth in an interesting space and definitely a market leader in its segment / category.
Lots of responsibilities from day one, plenty of freedom and autonomy and lots of exposure to a variety of different projects and technologies. All engineers are encouraged to work with the product and testing teams during the development lifecycle to constantly improve product offerings, giving a deep sense of ownership. Always forward looking, forward thinking outlook with rapid turnaround times and 'fail early, fail often, fail fast'
continuous development approach.
Very open culture with amazingly smart people all around always willing to lend a hand or provide guidance, friendly and helpful atmosphere. The management and leadership has a very strong background and experience so one can constantly learn from them. Adap.tv treats all employees just like family, many fun interactions and events with the entire team, for example we usually try and do barbecues for the entire office as often as possible.
Free catered lunch everyday, better-than-usual benefits, flexible timings and no constraints on working from home or anywhere outside the office either, are just some of the many other perks!
Cons – Larger-than-average and sometimes fragmented technology stack, somewhat complicated business logic and core products can take some time to learn and get used to. Fast pace of development means the workload also ramps up very quickly. But at the same time, great feeling of achievement and sense of accomplishment when you're done!

Pros – Adap.tv is great place to work. U work with smart folks, solve real industry problems. Everyone is willing to share their knowledge and open to learning from others. U can work closely with the product team to shape the product and not blindly build something. There are no rigid rules, u r free to step into office whenever u want, work wherever u want. The other company benefits like free lunches, vacation are also great.
Business wise, adap.tv products are the first and the best in their category. Business is booming and company is doing great financially.
I am proud to be a member of adap.tv family.
Cons – 1.Sometimes there is a feeling that we are moving too fast.
2. Adap.tv is not well known yet in the technical circles.
Advice to Senior Management – Adaptv is not well known yet in the technical circles. Invest some resources in spreading the word. Continue to give freedom to your teams.

Current Employee – been working at adap.tv
Pros – Fantastic team: very smart people and great communication between engineers.
Relaxing working environment and free lunch!
The product is amazingly complicated, so you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you're done with it.
Cons – The product is amazingly complicated. It takes some time to get use to all the terminologies and the business logic.
Engineers don't have the best tools money can buy.

Former Employee – worked at adap.tv
Pros – Worked at Adap.tv for 2.5 years ending in fall 2010. It has been a great experience working at this company on many levels. On the engineering front, the engineering leadership is really open to engineers taking on initiatives, and are really supportive of ideas. The engineering leads have good industry experience and will definitely be there to assist you when you face roadblocks. The product team is composed of really smart and tech-savvy people, so it's definitely a pleasure working with them. It is true that the company has shifted its strategy a couple of times (admittedly, this is more than startups can usually go through), but I believe that at this point it has a pretty well defined strategy that is placing the company at an interesting space in the evolving ecosystem of online media.
At the time that I left the company, it was truly a pleasure working here, and there was a good balance of cranking through features and working on very interesting engineering driven projects.
I would be more than happy to give more feedback through comments on more specific questions. But overall, I would really recommend this company for all software engineers, especially for junior software engineers.
Cons – As opposed to leaving the engineering culture to evolve organically, management could possibly put more structure to its evolution through organizing events like hackathons, engineering tech talks (which used to be there, but fizzled out) and more code reviews. But frankly, a good thing is that this could also be driven through new hires as well, which I believe should be a part of working at a startup.
Advice to Senior Management – Put more emphasis on establishing an engineering culture, where through activities and well-structured conversations, engineers can devise a path for nurturing their engineering skills and progressing on their career path.

Current Employee – been working at adap.tv
Pros – It's a small company with a lot of very talented, smart people, which is addressing a rapidly growing market. It's well financed, the management team brings a lot of valuable experience, and the team is given a lot of responsibility, and can exercise a lot of creativity.
Cons – It can be chaotic, and you have to be able to adapt to quickly changing market conditions and strategy.
Advice to Senior Management – Trust your employees with great responsibility and they will exceed your expectations.

Former Employee – worked at adap.tv
Pros – Adap.tv had a very competent group of engineers. Working with bright people is a reward in and of itself. They are well funded.
Cons – The managerial team has wasted an early lead in the space, squandering opportunity after opportunity with monthly strategic changes. If you stay long enough, you will see the great cycle of strategies. The culture of misinformation upper management fosters is intense and pervasive.
Advice to Senior Management – Consider adding a proven performer with the juice to make changes. Someone with a background in advertising and sharp attention to operational detail is needed.
Work on respecting those who work for you.

Current Employee – been working at adap.tv
Pros – free lunches, good benefits, decent hours. very smart people in non-management roles that bring many years of industry experience.
Cons – executive management has very little knowledge of building software technologies and has close to no knowledge of the advertising space. the product lacks strategy and is constantly playing catch-up to competitors. 40% of the company is in management. employees are dispensable - hired and fired at the drop of a hat. not your typical fun, open, collaborative start-up culture.
Advice to Senior Management – my advice to the board would be to replace sr. mgmnt. my advice to sr. mgmnt is to leave
