    Biomerieux !!! There is nothing good about this company. Company is located in NC a very poor area with less security.

    Cons

    No recognition. The company is not appreciated about your hard work. if you are on a temporary assignment please find a way to find another job within 3 months they're not going to hire you permanently because of their greed. They don't want to pay your benefit. This company is suck. Not much career opportunity if you are a temp person. Boo.....

    Pros

    Mission-driven company with strong values and a long history of market leadership. People there really care about employees.

    Cons

    Bureaucratic company with unclear processes. Need to reach consensus before being able to execute on projects.

    Advice to Management

    Clarify / simplify processes and empower regional managers so they can move fast without needing too many approvals.

    Pros

    Benefits is the only good thing going here. They start you out with 4 weeks of vacation and the medical/dental and vision benefits are good. The also provide a stipend for the cafeteria.

    Cons

    The initial training and ongoing training leaves much more to be desire. There is very little to no opportunity for growth. People are not recognized for their day to day contributions and going over and beyond the job function.

    Advice to Management

    Create a training plan for new employees and more classroom training for new products and procedure as opposed to online trainings. Also explore the talent within the company for open positions instead of bring in temporary or external employees. Although telecommuting has progressed a lot continue to work on solutions to balance work life balance.

    Pros

    The company offers great benefits and compensation, opportunities for advancement and training.

    Cons

    Too many layers of management (matrix), they frequently promote people without experience, backstabbing and political culture, and the French unrealistically expect Americans to conduct business as is done in France. Too many meetings prevent one from getting tasks completed. It was typical to have the same conversation with five different people in five different meetings. This was true for every single conversation or concern or status update. They preach excellent company values and ethics but they do not practice them.

    Advice to Management

    Remove the layers, support your people, listen to the qualified individuals to address the issues and provide the best customer service to improve engagement and culture.

    Pros

    The company has a good compensation package and provides a generous 4 weeks of vacation. Tasks such as investigations, CAPAs and the like are tracked by software and due dates are linked to performance goals in a closed loop system. The company manufactures and takes pride in providing excellent products that serve a good customer base. The factories are expanding and is supported by strong management and engineering. Managers are knowledgeable and supportive.

    Cons

    Medical and Dental insurance is okay. Plan your vacation as work allows. Some employees haven't used vacation because of the tasks that wouldn't get done if they were to be absent. Turnover in key positions are disruptive to the business.

    Advice to Management

    No real advice to provide to management except maybe to try to achieve a little better work/life balance for yourself. The managers at bioMerieux are really good but also are some of the hardest working people I've met.

    helpful, resourceful and very smart people in IT, Everybody is ready to help each other. great career growth and learning curve. good work-life balance.

    too many trainings, other than that nothing that i can think of.

    The benefits are amazing. Great training from my manager.

    Cons

    People talk about one another when they have a problem with someone as opposed to coming directly to the person. A lot like High School. Have felt restricted.

    Advice to Management

    Put your employees first, your customers will largely benefit.

    A stable company that contributes to communities and environment worldwide.

    As any large company it sometimes takes a long time to for needed change to be made.

    Advice to Management

    Never lose the ability to develop your people. To that end, think about increasing the yearly tuition reimbursement as it has been a static amount for the last 5+ years. But college tuition keeps increasing every year.
