  1. BRA is a very unique public agency in the US. The experience working with it is very helpful towards a planning career.

    Pros

The work-live balance is very good. There are not a lot of work load. Quite relaxed.

    Cons

I guess this is the common issue for most public agencies. There is some level of bureaucracy in the organization.

    Advice to Management

I am not quite sure what to say actually. With the new mayor, there might be a lot of changes going on in the Authority.

    Cons

Needs some restructuring in terms of organization (but they are in the process of doing that now so hopefully things will be more streamlined in the near future) ; also needs to implement electronic data organization system

    Doesn't Recommend
    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Okay compensation, benefits are great, flexible work hours, work life balance, managers serve as mentors, expect typical government agency culture.

    Cons

Small company, not a lot of room for growth, work is not challenging, the building is old, lounge area looks run-down,

    Advice to Management

Provide more employee training and development programs, reward and recognize employees, be more innovative, find ways to keep employees engaged.
