    Pros

dck worldwide has a good management team with a broad range of experience. They desire to develop dck into a global construction management firm focused on particular clientele.

    Cons

dck is undergoing some transitional issues due to the acquisition of Summit dck and sale of the Guam business unit. dck may not be a typical construction firm and does not operate like many of its larger competitors.

    Advice to Management

Management could do a better job of conveying the companies current status and future direction to employees.

    Pros

    Large company, plenty of opportunity.

    Cons

Don't really promote from within, easy to get pigon holed. Cutting back on benefits and pay.

    Advice to Management

Many great people with excellent skills are not being utilized to their maximum potential.

    Pros

Great people. Great benefits. Advancement opportunities.

    Cons

Not sure who is running the company. They terminate helpful hard-working employees and replace them with friends and buddies. Success all depends on your job site or your supervisor/department.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up.

    Pros

Have several great Senior PM's and Directors, job site is usually very well run.

    Cons

Division managers and some upper management could care less about the individual employee.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your key people before some other company does.

    Pros

The only positive comment I can think of is that it's better than being unemployed.

    Cons

Bad pay. No raises for multiple years with no reasons given. Upon being hired I was told that I would be eligible for increases. I've had positive reviews with no follow up. No cost of living increases either. When inquiring about increases, upper management says they'll get back to you but never follow up. There are no training opportunities for possible promotions. There is no job security. No mentoring. The salary issues are well known throughout the company and are frequently discussed between coworkers. When I first inquired about an increase, several coworkers laughed and then stated they had not received a raise in more than 4 years.

    Advice to Management

Take better financial care of your experienced employees that don't have executive status. Do some analysis. Run the numbers for retainage versus recruitment! Google the current salaries for ALL positions. I did! Comparable positions in the same market are currently paying at least 10k more than you are offering new hires. Existing employees are far worse off. Mentor your people. Develop them into more valuable assets and you will have greater success. Have you taken a look at your turnover? If so, don't you find the numbers alarming?

    Pros

Pay rate is better than most, good for people who are end of career, or want to do all aspects of construction

    Cons

Pay should be more consistent at all levels, there are DRASTIC differences. Bonuses should be consistent, bad for people beginning a career in a discipline that is not construction, lack of work hour flexibility, no remote work permitted, poor vacation time for anyone under 10 years.., women with sense of entitlement, on job sites and at corporate, who usurp authority.

    Advice to Management

I don't understand what their goals are.. the company keeps changing. Pick "a" goal and stick with it.

    Pros

Great pay, great benefits, diverse market sectors, ability to work in exotic areas of the world, great project diversity, very progressive company overall.

    Cons

Some times hard to know who exactly your boss is. Project control systems need updating. COmpany structure seems to always be in flux.
