Advice to Senior Management
Treat employee as people.
Pros
If you are a full time employee, you are luck but still need to work hard to gain over-average performance review and feedback.
Cons
Too many arguments and if you are a relatively junior guy your voice will not be hardly accepted. Too many people talk like almost all the big companies.
Advice to Senior Management
More flexible to employees on performance review. Take more serious attention on employees' view and suggestions. Cooperate more between teams instead of challenging.
Pros
The salary is fine and have better package than most of other IT companies in China.
The company always provides career development plan and support to all employees. And will review your performance every quarter. If you get high score you will get chance to be promoted. Generally the company is fair for everyone.
The working environment is pretty good and the facilities are the same in global, so it's in the top layer in China.
Cons
Currently the global economy is impacting this company, but because of the traditional working model the company's response and action is not as fast as we expected.
Advice to Senior Management
Change the traditional working model to give faster response of the outside environment changing
Pros
good work life balance and relaxed work atmosphere. i never work over time. i have talented colleagues. my boss is nice and we worked together pretty well. i tried interviewing other opportunities and found they did not pay as much as ebay, at least in China. i have chances to work with U. S. colleagues and sometimes went there to have training and meetings. my english gets much better because i have to talk with other parts of the world in english all the time, which is a great thing and will be a good asset for the future career.
Cons
it's now too big to avoid bureaucracy. one small issue will have to be waited for a long time to get fixed. an email thread grows very fast when people are saying nothing but CCing extra ones to the thread, and finally no one has the answer. when things go wrong, managers often first say it is because under staffing so he can get more head count, which will help himself to grow along the ladder, but makes the company even bigger and slower. why now there is lay off? because we have too many people now. it's very true.
Advice to Senior Management
like many, or most of other US companies, Sr Mgt has been given too much and golden parachute so I doubt they really cares about the company and its normal employees.
Pros
good salary and career development. Names in the list of fortune the best company to work for. Fast growing company give us a large place to expand our thinking and idea. My manager trust me and give me a lot of opportunities. I am very satisfied with my current job and position.
eBay's salary package is competitive in China job market. It attracts a lot of talented people to join eBay. I believe eBay in China will have a fast growth in the near future. I would like to give my employer a very high grade indeed!
Thanks very much!
Cons
internet company not feel stable
