Former Employee – worked at eGain Communications full-time
Pros – You'll do a lot of work, have a ton of responsibility, and manage projects other entry-level employees have only dreamed of. You'll grow your resume generously.
Cons – Very low pay. Upper management is unapproachable. Discourages contacting them directly, and insists on working independently versus collaboratively. No opportunity for advancement. No recognition for surpassing goals (they just brush it off as "part of your job" discouraging you to want to succeed again, lowering morale). A LOT of siblings, couples, and other family members work here--hindering creative growth, and preventing a mix of backgrounds to contribute to the bigger picture, thus pigeon-holeing the long-term success of the company. I haven't met anyone at eGain that acknowledged a deadline or followed a timeline.
Advice to Senior Management – Needs more senior level staff to properly mentor entry-level employees. People that are willing to answer questions and not tell their subordinates to "just Google it." Experience is the back bone to success, and newbie employees are only as successful as the people who mentor them.

Pros – Good friendly people to work with. Laid back culture. Lots of employees have been there for a long time. Good analyst coverage.
Cons – Company is weak in understanding competition and markets in general. Channels are not strong. Product too complicated to configure.

Current Employee – been working at eGain Communications full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great People, Flexible, Smart product, clean nice office appearance, cross- team cooperation, extraordiarily small group of talented people working hard to making the company successfull.
Cons – loyalty of longtimers is valued over competence, executive team's bias toward longtimers impede's company's progress and growth, inability of executive team to listen to differing views works to the detriment of the company, there is no room for any new thinking, inequitable employee evaluation process. Nepotism is out of control.
Advice to Senior Management – remove the is barrier between new employees and longtimers by showing valuing for the new talent that is brought in by new employees. Value all employees. Be fair and honest.

Current Employee – been working at eGain Communications
Pros – As mentioned in the headline the product is very good. There is a need out there. There are some talented people working at eGain. Analysts, always rate the products as one of the best in the field.
Cons – No coherent marketing plan or corresponding sales strategy. Fear and intimidation are the tools that are too often used. There are too many direct family members and relatives on the payroll.
Advice to Senior Management – Find people that know how to run the sales and marketing aspects of your business. Learn from the past and make better plans for the future.

Former Employee – worked at eGain Communications
Pros – Free coffee and free use of the refrigerator.
free Ping Pong
Nice People in certain departments
Cons – VP of Sales and VP of Marketing don't get a long. Marketing has major favoritism toward workers in India. Very Cheap when it comes to speading for you to become successful. Un realistic goals to make money. Will not listen to any creative critisim. It there way or the highway!
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your employess. don't live in a world of ultamatiums. make sure your co-workers have the tools to be successful. Show an interest if your co-workers are struggeling.

Current Employee – been working at eGain Communications
Pros – Company has very talented people. Some of the employees we had are in top positions at Yahoo, Google, Microsoft.
Environment is good until you run into the politics and management.
Cons – People who have been with the company for a long time are in top positions and basically think in DOS mode.
They feel challenged when someone bright brings in new ideas.
Cronism behind the scenes.
Advice to Senior Management – Company has talented people both in India and around the world. Promote the talented stars and CEO needs to let go of his ego. Fire the incompetent PM's. Maybe they are there to do management's bidding.
