    Pros

Work comes to you in waves—sometimes you're so overworked that you can't even eat lunch, while other times you're dying of boredom because you have no work to do & zero communication from your boss.

    Decent suite of products...

    Cons

This is not the company that you want to come into expecting to see cheerful, optimistic employees. Instead, you are greeted by others who are just as bored with their work as you are. Pay, benefits, and stock options are all very minimal...this is honestly one of the cheapest companies in the Silicon Valley. As one of the other reviewers has suggested, forget it unless you're Indian or a family-friend referral.

    Pros

The eGain application offers exceptional product functionality when it comes to cross-channel interaction management. The SC group was great and very much as a team helping each other out as needed. We also had direct access to product management and developers to assist with opportunities or to ask technical questions.

    Cons

There was a lack of career growth with no documented career path. You basically had to wait for someone to leave before there was any room to move up. eGain choose a poor health benefits program for the employees and does not match 401k contributions. I received some stock when I joined, but the stock had not increased in value at all and offered little incentive to stay. We had a very poor win rate against the major players like SalesForce so if you can't beat them, join them.

    Pros

some nice people who try hard

    Cons

    management by fear and intimidation
    very bad senior management
    poor compensation
    cheap, cheap, cheap
    unable to stay relevant
    outdated language, tools, strategies
    nepotism
    a few rude people
seems like a flat organization but senior management treats people like garbage

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

examine senior management and try to make this a work environment where people feel safe instead of constantly threatened, you will get more loyalty.

    Pros

    It paid the bills... barely

    Cons

I worked at corporate. Gave blood and guts and was well regarded. No one picked on me specifically, but the whole environment was nasty and it was definitely the cheapest company that I have ever worked for. Employees were seen as extendible. If you don't like it go somewhere else attitude, and lots of people have usually with better pay and appreciation. Make sure to get money going in, because you can easily be replace for someone for 1/2 your salary. There is one exception to all of this and that is if you are part of the "Indian Family" Feel free to read anything you want into that. Unless you are desperate, don't do it. I will leave on a positive note, most of the "regular" people are very bright and mostly super nice.

    - Micro management: Engineering management \ Managers interfere in each and everything.
    - No Appreciation for good work but you will big notes if you will do any mistake
    - Family owned business : Lots of husband\wife

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engineering Management should start appreciating employees for their good work also

    Pros

    It pays the bills... barely.

    Cons

I worked at eGain well over 5 years. Completely slammed with work. Executive management almost 100% Indian, and "part of the family" show no respect, or recognition for your work, the kind of work that produces results.

Pay is not even close to industry standards, but you are made well aware that you can easily be replaced with a fresh college grad for 1/2 the cost. They expect loyalty, but give none back.

Also what others said was true, they are absolutely the cheapest company I have ever worked for. They care nothing about investing in their people.

With that said, many of the individuals I worked with were top notch and some of the brightest, nicest people I had the honor to work with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe the hard line approach works for your Indian employees, but not for others.
