I have been working at eResearchTechnology full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good company values, very good people - clearly the HR department knows what they are doing.

    Cons

People are hired after something called an assessment center review where main contenders are all put in the same room and made to compete one another .. yet they are told to work as a team. Really strange environment..

Organizational structure is changing constantly. Recently moved to a more flat structure which made it impossible for some much deserving people to move up in their careers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dear management - you all seem like awesome and very smart people but if you don't show some appreciation to the good people that work hard for you - you will lose them.

Solid employees hampered by management who have been with the company for a long time, yet have little management skills

I have been working at eResearchTechnology full-time

    Pros

Some new turnover in management offers hope the company will be able to revive.

    Strong technology.

    Cons

Some executive management still in place who have no idea how to manage or lead a company. They have been employed for years, slowly promoted, and yet have no business being in executive management.

Attempts to merge several companies into a single technology base have failed miserably internally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut ties with executive management baggage. Continue on course of bringing in real executive management staff to bring strategic direction to the company.

    Pros

Great team. Brightest and hardest working people I have ever met.

    Cons

Need to get all locations on same page. Other country location impeded progress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Vision necessary at executive management level that is fair to employees. Enforce vision on on other locations, eg Germany.

I have been working at eResearchTechnology full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefit packages are very good and pay is pretty competitive in comparison to what you can get with your skills elsewhere.

    Cons

Leadership is inert and self-impressed. No one is willing to produce change, innovate, or facilitate process improvement. Every piece of constructive criticism is met with "I have to talk to so-and-so about that," regardless of the size and difficulty of the suggested fix.

    Pros

One pro of working at ERT is that all of the employees are down to earth. They also made me confident that I could perform the tasks that they assigned me.

    Cons

One of the cons would be that my job function was somewhat clerical. I plan to work at a CPA firm where I will get more relevant experience.

    Pros

ERT has a strong business model. The company is continually looking for new ways to expand their business. Salaries and benefits are competitive within the region.

    Cons

Mid-level employees do not have many opportunities for career growth. Generally the work-life balance is not respected. Company finances and changes are often opaque.

I worked at eResearchTechnology full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

work/life balance is great, fun activities for staff awespme. The company is straight forward you do you job and thats it. Different shifts available and opportunity to move in different positions if you wait around long enough.

    Cons

Not a diverse company when it comes to management or executive level positions. While your waiting for growth opportunities dont be surprised if someone comes in with no experience, you train them and they get promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

An employee who has been loyal and helping business grow and develop for 5 years should receive growth opportunities prior to a person just coming in with no experience/background to warrant a promotion.

    Pros

People that were there from the beginning or close to the beginning were promoted quickly and were paid well.

    Cons

The company watches every penny that’s spent. If you want to get some training you’ll have to settler for Lunch and Learns

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people opportunities to grow and develop.
