    Great coworkers, great compensation, sometimes stressful environment.

    ProsThe company does its best to hire only people with a very good attitude and aptitude level, the team is among the best I've ever worked with.
    The technology is very interesting, all home grown, and the product delivers tangible value and generates a lot of revenue.
    The core values of the company make it really easy to provide good customer service, you never feel like you're lying to your customers or trying to screw them over.
    Almost all of the key team members have been here at least 5 years, so there's a lot of stability and continuity in the key knowledge centers throughout the company.
    There's been a strong focus on promoting from within over the past 12 months.
    Work life balance is great.
    Compensation is really great.

    ConsThe customer is number one, so if something happens that hurts a customer, it can be stressful to report that to senior management. Also, day to day customer requests can derail long-term strategic plans.
    eScan has been experiencing a transition from a "startup" to a "midsize" company for a couple years now with mixed success.
    Because all the technology is homegrown and because the company still has a startup feel, there's not a ton of documentation so it can be hard to get the information you need to do your job well unless you're the kind of person who enjoys figuring it out for yourself.
    There need to be more tools for employees.

    Advice to Senior ManagementDo your best to keep focusing on long term strategic initiatives that are in the best interest of the company. Spend more resources on solutions that make your employees jobs easier.

    best company I've ever worked for

    ProsThis company both staff and management, work hard to make this a fantastic place to work. Great compensation, training, career growth. If someone has a good idea, its listened to. Developers on average stay at a company for less that two years. At eScan however, 3/4 of the progammers have been here 5+ years, the other 3 were new hires. This wouldn't be the case if the environment was bad or the work boring.

    ConsThe work is fast paced. There isn't flex time. Parking isn't always easy. But that's being addressed.

    Would never recommend a friend to work for this company

    ProsThis company has good compensation and benefit package. Th work conducted at this place is very interesting, but can get mundane after 6-8 months.

    ConsManagement team is awful. They have no respect for their employees and treat them like slaves. Taking time off from work is a big hassle. An employee has to report to 5 different personnel if they are going to late to their office even by 5 mins. The team makes employees take PTO if employees are 15 mins late from their lunch. If a bathroom has plumbing problems, the team locks all bathrooms for a day and asks employees to use sign-in log to use the bathrooms. The management uses employees against employees (uses some employees as informers) and builds distrust among its employees. There are cameras everywhere to track employees movements. There is lot of micro management from the mgmt team. This company has very high turnover. So, be very careful!!!

    Advice to Senior ManagementRespect your employees. Let their some kind of camaraderie among your employees. Stop buiding stressful relationships between your employees. Treat your employees like adults.

    ProsYou are surrounded by very smart and competent people, they pay well, they offer a great product and truly treat their clients with a great deal of integrity.

    ConsThe very smart and competent people are treated like children and in a lot of cases pigeon holed into very one dimensional jobs. It's really odd, they hire these great people with strong skill sets and abilities & then they don't let them use them. Also, it is NOT a collaborative environment. Opinions & feedback are HIGHLY discouraged. There is no management team and the owner operators are controlling to a degree of which I thought illegal. Really terrible work environment.

    Advice to Senior ManagementThere is no management. Get yourselves a management team to help buffer bad decisions you make because of trust issues. Listen to ideas and feedback, this is conducive to innovation & success. Your people ARE your company! It doesn't appear that you have true awareness of this fact.
