    Pros

    you get an hour lunch

    Cons

only commission, no customers, thousands of tags every day, you do everything yourself, a manager is never around or present when you need them, horrible with customer service they don't care, too small work shirts, needing to go in order to sell to customers, completely dead and slow during week days, returns will kill you, commission is only 1% so if you sell $100 you make $1., nobody wants psp, employees stand around, they stack tags, and customers commonly want to report to corporate.

    Advice to Management

hey stop being jerks, be more professional, be present, be respectful, assist customers, and do something!!!

    Pros

There are some co-workers that would tell you about the store and try to help you. Training on the computer is very helpful.

    Cons

The management support is horrible. I spent my first week cleaning instead of learning. I made sells during my first two weeks and was told I couldn't get the commission on any of it. I could gift it to someone, or let the company have it were my options. Management sells you on how they understand problems. Instead I was fired on my day off while I was moving in my new apartment. Place on hold until the system ended my call and wasn't told why I was terminated.

    Advice to Management

At least inform the employee your firing why, There getting terminated. Do not call that person on there day off, and tell them its not working out. At least have the respect to have a face to face conversation.

    Pros

Provides a paycheck. Sells Interesting items.

    Cons

Poor Upper leadership. Employees are just numbers. Cant find its identity. Fear is the main motivator.

    Advice to Management

It would be a waste of time to advise leadership. They are not interested in hearing.

    Pros

Typical retail hours but pay based on commission. Good products and prices. Co-workers were great. Training was adequate.

    Cons

Management at time not in touch with sales associates. Work culture at times had a feel of "favoritism".

    Advice to Management

    Nothing at this time.

    Pros

Dealing with cool items, possibility of making lots of money, most customers are nice and respectful, you get to watch TV or play games on the computer when you're slow

    Cons

If associates have been employed at the store for any decent length of time they will vulture all your customers because they have already dealt with that customer. If you don't make enough commission company will loan you money to pay your check, but you have to pay that back.

    Advice to Management

Need to find a better way to convey training to new associates. Need to focus on different areas for sales instead of just TVs and refrigerators.

    Pros

Your paycheck is limitless. You determine how much you will make. There are no caps and the people are great.

    Cons

The downside to working at hhgregg is, if the traffic is down, the floor is slow then how can you make money. It's almost impossible.

    Pros

The people. I met some of the most amazing people. I went in there with very lil friends and walked out with many... also the knowledge. Couldn't tell you a thing about appliances or sales before walking in there and learned a whole bunch. putting it on my resume has been great & very helpful.

    Cons

The gap between hours and pay is the biggest. You often find yourself standing around for 9-10 hour shifts (12-14 around the holidays) for a minimum wage check every 2 weeks. There's something extremely off about their pay system there. You will NEVER MAKE what you think you're going to make. The percentages are so horrible! The company makes the money for your hard work.

The favoritism (at least at my store) was outrageous. If you're not liked by the management from day one expect to be treated extremely unfairly. You often find yourself feeling like you're back in high school. Managers will go on lunch with the employees they like, extend their lunch/cigarette breaks, not say a word when they are late or call off, etc. Do not expect the same if you are not in their little group.

    Advice to Management

Fix your pay system! There is NO money there!!

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    Better training would be nice
