I have been working at hibu

    Pros

Positive atmosphere. Reasonably flexible with time-off and special situations.

    Cons

Shifting standards, not a lot of support when big systemic changes come down the pipe. Too much time spent learning things on the fly. Not enough time given off phone for the amount of things we're expected to check and double check on a daily basis,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There was a layoff where the department was quoted as having too many managers. While this may have been true from a cost perspective, we've suffered from the lack of attention.

    I worked at hibu

    Pros

    Good software training
    Resume experience
Compensation for position was faily good

    Cons

Everything you know about your job or the company's policies will change in a new york minute. That is no way to run a company. There should be many more managers or assistant managers to provide enough help as needed. One of the worst things is the disjointed way offices are run. Broken communication is the only communication here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement consistent strategies and consistent methods of operation. I expect that I will see a published obituary for this company shortly.

I worked at hibu (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexibility, Friendly employees, happy hours

    Cons

Unrealistic goals. No support for new products. Poor training. Stressful job! Managers are constantly on your back. Meetings are funny because everything they want from you is a joke. Your clients hate you because the products suck. Unless you want to go on medicine, stay away. They lure you with high commissions and you will work your life away to get them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trade places with the reps and you wouldnt last a week.

I have been working at hibu

    Pros

Benefits were great before they changed recently to save money.

    Cons

There is no communication or organization between sales and production. Lie, cheat, and steal from the customers and sales reps. Claim to be in reorganization but feels like they are getting ready to sell. Harass you about numbers. Goals are extremely difficult to hit when you spend so much time cleaning up sales messes from weeks before. Worst place I have ever worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put people in charge that can make the changes. Promoting from within is awesome but not when you promote your best friend who doesn't know anything.

I worked at hibu full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The team I worked with was great! I loved the people I worked with and my Team Leader was a great manager.

    Cons

The time I was there, the company went through multiple changes and my job changed dramatically. I went from having a set list of clients, and would only work on their websites; to a more customer service position, where I was just taking phone calls all day, and only having a little bit of time to make changes to a website that would take longer than a couple minutes. Many other things changed throughout my position and the company itself that I did not like.

I have been working at hibu full-time

    Pros

Paychecks haven't started to bounce yet.

    Cons

Many - Promotion potential is a joke, employees encouraged to apply within to adapt to changing focus of company but hiring seems to be based on cliques rather than aptitude, newest benefits package confusing to navigate, communication non-existent, people in charge of "process" completely out of touch, constant oversight by too many departments: QA, peer review, FWR, studio, et al., and there are about 9 places every job must be reported and tracked: it takes longer to update the many software programs than it does to sell, create, and publish digital products.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut and run. Cut. And. Run.

I worked at hibu (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Laid back environment, great people to work with. The work-life balance was definitely one of the few perks.

    Cons

Bankruptcy, recent changes in executive management and the multiple rounds of layoffs in the past year should make anyone fearful applying for any positions within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your employees know they are more than a number to you.

I have been working at hibu full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company is strengthening financially. Over diversification is now back under control. Wasteful spending has been curtailed. Better work life balance now

    Cons

Revenues have not yet rebounded. Spectre of layoffs continually hangs over the business. People viewed as more expendable today than in past.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put a better financial rewards plan together. Unfreeze promotions
